I arrived at my appoint a little ahead of time as customary. I checked in at the front desk and updated my insurance information then took a seat in the waiting area. I waited for more than 1/2 hour beyond my appointment time then again checked with the receptionist. She said that the Dr. was not in. I asked why she didn't mention that to me when I arrived and she said that the Physician's Assistant is in and that I can see him. Based on this I have 2 observations: 1. I understand that there are times when the physician is called to the hospital for emergencies, but when the Dr. is not in the receptionist should let the patient know instead of letting him wait with no explanation. 2. When I make an appointment with a heart specialist, I do not expect to or want to see a Physician's Assistant. My primary care physician is more knowledgeable about my heart than a P.A.. I basically wasted my afternoon. My time is also important!!

Seems to be in too big of a hurry during the office visit to listen to you or really consider any questions asked. Does not provide any educational materials or discussion on specific diet, supplementation, cardiac rehab/exercise or listen to patient concerns. Zero post office follow up. No response when informed about ringing in ears from Lasix, as much as 9 lb. weight gain over night etc... Cant give a straight answer two appointments in a row regarding type of heart condition. Total lack of coordination between primary physician and this office. My family is scared, with a condition as serious as heart failure and the total lack of consistent medical attention. When I looked up the standard of medical care for this condition I realized my practitioners were not even close. Where are the real specialist at in Yuma? Take two aspirin and call back in six months ....... I get better attention and care at my mechanics shop.
