Dr Hadassa Leader

Dr. Dassi Leader, MD is focused on the comprehensive care of children that require hospitalization for a broad range of childhood illnesses. Dr. Leader s approach aims to optimize the quality of care with evidenced based medical practice while providing compassionate, humanistic support to the child as a whole and to the parents and family. As Director of In-Patient Pediatrics, she develops clinical guidelines to help streamline care of common problems to reflect the most up to date standards; training residents daily to abide by these same standards. Dr. Leader monitors various quality outcome measures, such as readmission rates, patient surveys and discharge times in order to guide effective performance improvement initiatives. Her current research activity explores the effects of bullying victimization on hospitalizations for psychiatric and psychogenic medical problems. Dr. Leader is director of the Pediatric Grand Rounds program at SIUH, providing a series of Continuing Medical …Education accredited lectures to hospital and community based Pediatricians. Dr. Leader also runs a high tech Pediatric In-Patient Simulated Patient Course, designed for pediatric residents to enhance core competencies in medical knowledge, practice based learning and system based practice as applied to pediatric hospital based care.
