Dr. Hal Nathan Buch, MD

Changed gastro doctors for third colonoscopy and boy am I sorry I did. This guy found the most dangerous type of pre cancerous polyp at 2cm and NEVER SAID A WORD to me because he considered my colonoscopy "very difficult". How ODD the other doctor didn't! AND then he left a note for my PCP saying it was "too difficult" to do another and I should have a Cologuard test instead! With a precancerous polyp that has a rate of 60% regrowth and over 50% of them become CANCER. He gave me a DEATH SENTENCE because he doesn't have the SKILL. And the staff? like Frankenstein's clinic! FORGET IT.

Coming from NYC all my life, I was nervous about Dr's in general...Im a Cancer survivor. But I would not change Dr. Buch for all the Dr.'s in NYC Staff is great....

I found Dr. Buch's office and Staff to be courtesy and offer excellent care and compassion. I felt a sense of comfort from the moment I spoke on the phone with staff to schedule my appointments with his highly trained Nurse Practitioner's Marisa Flanagan and Lynn Carollo. My procedure experience with the Dr. Buch, nursing staff and anesthesia physician was wonderful. The office made me feel so comfortable and put my fears and ease that I look forward to future visits and procedures with Dr. Buch and staff.

From bad to worse.

After years of my family dealing with Dr. Buch and his office staff, here is my opinion. You can only schedule an appointment with Dr. Buch himself if you are male. If you are female you only get to see a nurse practitioner. Which may not be a bad thing. My experience with Lynn Carrollo was the best thing about the practice. The office staff leaves much to be desired. In particular, the curly haired receptionist, is down-right rude, incompetent and thinks she can give medical advise. Need a pre-authorization from your insurance company? Good luck trying to get the office staff to get that done for you. Procedures - they love to do a colonoscopy or endoscopy. More than once Dr. Buch quoted the number after a procedure. "We have done over 50,000 colonoscopies here!" Yes. Dr. Buch may have a great deal of experience, but what the support staff lacks in empathy has me looking for a new gastroenterologist.

This was my second colonoscopy. Newer prep was easier. Nurse practioner answered my questions and a few I had not thought to ask... Colonoscopy was over before I knew it. The office staff was friendly and answered any questions when I called. Will return in 3years, confident that I will be in good hands.

Dr. Buch is friendly, listens, and explains one's concerns fully. I have felt very comfortable with Dr. Buch's skills and procedures.
