Dr. Hal Motlow Herd, MD

Dr. Herd is fantastic. He is a seasoned Pediatrician and he getsbright to the point. Both of our babies are under his care and we couldn't be more pleased.

This group of doctors is more interested in getting as much money as they can from you and your insurance than they are the actual care of your children. The office staff is surly most of the time and getting sick appointments are a nightmare. We started seeing this group of doctors when our 2nd child was born. The day after he was born, he wouldn't eat and the doctors kept ignoring what we as parents were telling them. Due to their incompetence, and ignoring us, he ended up in the NICU after choking on amniotic fluid in his stomach. At 4 years old he hurt his leg at Pre-K on a Friday afternoon and the "educated" doctor at GPAM told us he "sprained" his ankle and to take him on Monday to get it x-rayed if it still hurt. Well, I was not comfortable with that and asked for a referral to a specialist which was denied. I asked my orthopedist to take a look at him right away, which he gladly did. It turned out that he had actually broken his leg! He had a spiral fracture of his tibia… that required a full leg cast! Then our teen daughter at a checkup (in an effort to boost her self-image?) is basically told she's fat and needs to lose weight (for the record, sheâ??s not). A few months ago she starts developing signs of asthma. The doctors there just kept giving her breathing treatments over and over and over. When we asked about getting a referral to a specialist, we were told that it wasn't necessary. On our own, we ended up taking her to a pulmonologist and found out it was more severe than GPAM told us. She is now on the proper meds and does not need the "breathing treatments" anymore. It has been 100% under control since the specialist saw her. Gwinnett Pediatrics is under equipped (no x-rays) and the staff are pretending to be doctors. Every single time Iâ??ve asked for a referral to a specialist itâ??s denied. Possibly an effort to hide their incompetence? Avoid this place at all costs if you love your kids!
