Dr. Hal Stephen Wortzel, MD

This man regularly loses in court cases due to his corrupt testimony dismissing the victims of TBI. He also rejects brain SPECT, which is a well known diagnostic test of brain injuries. He works for insurance companies, not patients, so he is paid very well to be dishonest. Thankfully his opinions are almost always rejected by judges. And he carries little respect in his field.

Dr. Hal Wortzel is unprofessional, not polite and does not justify the expectations, considering medical degrees he holds. He is working in the wrong business field. His capability is to prepare incorrect medical statements on behalf of insurance companies he works for, to prevent injured people from receiving the money they deserved for their Injuries. Don't worry, one day Karma will do It's job. God bless all good people.

Wortzel is a man not caring to hear or understand the patient. Its ovbious if your there and not understanding questions and not knowing how to answer it he looks down on you and questions your ability of not understanding the question he would ask. I mean he did go to college to understand why people dont understand things right? I guess he needs more college courses. Like they say money talks and he is all about the money not for the people with real head injuries

This guy is paid by insurance companies to attack your character and try to discredit injuries suffered from any incident. Be aware if you are directed to see him, he is less than pleasant to visit with, has a very jaded point of view.

Dr. Wortzel's primary work product seems to be providing insurance companies with patient assessment reports as Independent Medical Examiner. There is zero accountability for his assessment to be accurate or informed, since it is provided as "his professional opinion." The more biased the report, the more helpful it is to an insurance company defense during a legal proceeding, These reports are not respected by his peers, and are readily identified as an attempt to be contracted again and again because the pay-out is so lucrative. The end result is that insurance companies pay him huge sums to cast doubt on the plaintiff - the truth doesn't matter since he works for a company and not a patient. In other words, he doesn't have to answer to the Colorado Board of Medical Examiners for non-factual data, since he was hired by State Farm, and is not working for a patient. While certainly there are those that abuse the legal system, there are plaintiffs with real injuries that… have no choice but to sue the at-fault party's insurance company in order to obtain reimbursement for medical expenses and known future medical care. It is a travesty of justice that plaintiffs who have truly been hurt get additionally beat-up by the legal process such that they feel defeated and settle for relatively little (less than even the reimbursement of their medical bills), simply to avoid the humiliation of having to defend themselves at trial. Wortzel takes advantage of what is legal in Colorado; but it surely isn't ethical or moral.

Dr. Wortzel was in my opinion very un-caring and un-professional.
