Dr. Hamed Al-Tamimi

Unfortunately, I am unable to recommend this practice after being a patient for nearly 5 years. Dr. Al-Tamimi is an incredible physician — kind, compassionate, and thorough. Unfortunately, his office operations, billing, and management do not reflect the same level of professionalism or care. After not being seen for two years, I arrived early for a follow-up appointment only to be told I had an outstanding balance from nearly three years ago. The bill was confusing and lacked accurate details, and I had never received a single call, email, or statement regarding it. Despite my surprise, I made a good-faith payment on the spot while planning to verify the charges with my insurance company. Even then, I was told the doctor would not see me. Staff even mentioned that previous management and billing personnel had been let go for similar issues — which tells me this isn’t an isolated mistake but a recurring problem the practice needs to address. If this office truly prioritized patient… care, they would have taken some responsibility for the poor communication, trusted a long-standing patient, and moved forward with the appointment. I fully understand that doctors deserve to be paid for their work — but patients also deserve transparency, respect, and the benefit of the doubt, especially when acting in good faith. Our entire family — myself, my husband, and both my parents — have all been patients here. Sadly, this experience means Dr. Al-Tamimi will lose not one, but four loyal patients because of how his office staff handled the situation. Good care is hard to find in Lubbock. I hope this feedback encourages the office to take ownership of its shortcomings and put patient care above office politics and mismanagement.

If it wasn't for Dr Al I would've had to have a liver transplant he encourage me to loose weight and I did 168 lb now I have my health.

I would like to say that at first he seemed like a knowledgeable doctor with a distant bed side manner. I have noticed a trend that if you do not have the first test come back with any results, he believes there is not a problem. I currently suffer from gastroparesis and I vomit daily. He had gave my the option to either have a gastric pacemaker or to suffer. Little did I know that his current “plan” was that my illness was psychogenic. He wants to bleed you try with tests. He had no accurate information on my meds and he did not keep track of any of my symptoms. It was easier for him to dismiss my case and say I needed a psych evaluation despite seeing a therapist and a psychiatrist for years. I am so offended and disappointed in him as a doctor and a person. Do not see him if you need help or have been diagnosed with depression.

He and his staff are very professional and knowledgeable. Saved my life.

Dr.Altamimi is a great doctor! He is very professional at his job, has great scheduling, and is very polite and nice! He spends time with his patients, making sure to get every detail. I definitely recommend him to people!

I had seen Dr Altamimi for abdominal pain. He ordered a colonoscopy. Afterwards, he wanted to speak to me. He said, " there's nothing wrong with you, stop making this pain up" while gesturing towards to my stomach. Now, of course, I've seen another GI. I get the results of my 6 biopsies tomorrow.

I have been a patient of Dr. Al-Tamimi for 9 months and the staff refuse to return a phone call concerning rest results. I have had this problem since the beginning, but it has gotten ridiculous. I have brain cancer and am waiting on a serious brain surgery because I have a bacterial infection, so this is a serious concern. On this occasion I have been waiting for 2 weeks to learn the results of my latest test. While the nurse refuses to tell me the results, my tumor grows. This is shameful and cruel.

He is great! He is very thorough in his exams and procedures, wanting to find the problem. Great bedside manner! Wears colorful shirts too!
