Dr. Hamed Taheri, MD

I have nothing but good to say about Dr. Hamed Taheri and his caring, friendly, professional and very knowledgeable staff in Long Beach CA. I was surprised at how little discomfort I felt during my procedures, which I’m sure is due to Dr. Hamed Taheri’s expertise in this area and his results speak for themselves. Thank you!

Unfortunately, my grandmother was not able to get the care she needed from Hamed Taheri while at Saint Mary's Medical Center in Long Beach due to the fact that the doctor threatened both her and her relatives to cancel the surgery. This threat came after myself and other family members requested basic information from him on the procedure: 1) WHAT is the procedure being performed? 2) IS she in stable condition to have this procedure?, 3) WHAT is the recovery time associated with the procedure?, 4) HOW will family be notified of the outcome?. Hamed Taheri refused to answer any of these questions, became terse and agitated, said that unless our relative wanted him to speak to us, he wouldn't, indicated he wasn't aware that she had a power of attorney on file, and ultimately threatened to cancel the surgery. He then approached my grandmother and had an undisclosed conversation, and within 10 min I received a call form the OR manager stating the procedure was cancelled. My grandmother has… since confirmed to both her nurses and case worker at the hospital, as well as myself and our other relatives that she did not feel "comfortable" with "that man" and wouldn't "trust him" to perform any procedure on her. His bed-side manor is extremely poor, his communication is abrasive and combative, and his overall care of patients is lacking to the point where it's clear he either 1) doesn't like what he does or 2) doesn't care about the people he's taken an oath to treat.
