Dr. Hamid Reza Mostafavi, MD

Dr. Mostafavi is a superb surgeon and I can give him my highest recommendation. After a major traumatic injury, I am now back to full functioning after a few months, which I had not expected. He is kind, compassionate and spent time explaining the injury and the needed surgery. I would recommend him without any reservation.

Not being an orthopedic surgeon we chose our surgeon based on the recommendations of all of the doctors we knew. They all recommended Dr. Mostafavi as the doctor who operated on their family members and is the "go to" surgeon for doctors in the area. He also is very kind and has a very compassionate bedside manner. Wholeheartedly recommend Dr. M if you are in the unfortunate position of needing surgery!

Dr.Mostafahvi is an incrediblly gifted surgeon , a caring human being, A phenomenal member of the medical profession. :I fractured my femur, was assigned to Dr. M at North Shore Hospital, and at age 85, I am driving into Manhattan,marketing and taking care of my home, driving to my children in Rockland County,, walking distances without a limp or the use of a cane, touring city museums. attending ballet and concerts. He is compassionate, with a warm personality. I consider myself so fortunate to have him in my life.

I can't say enough about Dr. Mostafavi. Dr. Mostafavi is a brilliant, talented, personable and humble surgeon. He explains everything in detail, and truly plans out his treatment plan very carefully to produce the best result. He makes eye contact, spends time with you, is extremely thorough and makes sure you are comfortable and understand everything. I highly recommend Dr. Mostafavi. I am thrilled with the result from the surgery he performed so perfectly.

I am grateful that he was the orthopedic doctor whom attended to my emergency, complicated, trauma pelvic surgery at North Shore Hospital in Manhasset, an amazing hospital! He has no idea what he is doing. Just passes the buck by shoving you on to another doctor. Where did he get his license?????? Don't waste your time going to see him let alone operate on you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent Doctor with great bed side manor

From the moment I walked into the offices of the orthopaedic associates of Manhasset, every single encounter with the staff and doctor himself, was by far the best I have ever received in any doctors office. The receptionist was welcoming, helpful ( I has my arm in a sling) attentive. When my name was called to go back to see the doctor, the lady who took me to my waiting room was happy, friendly, and it appeared she really enjoyed what she was doing. It actually stood out as unusual for a doctors office compared to what I am used to. After being seated, another really friendly girl walked in and presented herself as the doctors assistant. She was excellent, down to earth, cheerful, and made you feel so comfortable. So far this experience has been great I thought, couldn't believe how all these staff had such similar demeanors. There must be something about working at this place that sets is apart. When the doctor finally came in the room, he introduced himself to my husband and… I. I can honestly say I have never been to a doctor who is so humble, caring, soft spoken, kind. What an amazing person he is. He is not only the BEST in his field for what he does ( he came highly recommended), but his bedside manner is second to none. What a delight dealing with a doctor like this when you are in a serious situation where surgery is your only option and you are feeling somewhat anxious. He was straight forward as far as letting me know what my expectations should be post surgery and the time frame for recovery etc. I showed me an ex ray of what the plate and screws would look like in my arm because of the fact that it was such a significant break. He assured me that he takes his time during the surgery, and wants to make sure everything is perfect. He is meticulous, and everybody I spoke to before the surgery told me those exact words when describing him. I had the surgery - about 6 hours and has my follow up appointment already and everything looks excellent. The plate and screws are aligned perfect and my healing process is advancing quickly. Certainly much better than I could ever expect considering the scope of the surgery. I would highly highly recommend Dr. Mostafavi if anyone needs a surgeon for trauma cases dealing with fractures- this is his specialty and he is number one. What a fantastic experience! From the staff to the doctor!

after being involved in a high speed motorcycle accident fracturing several bones and being seen at an out of state hospital i was referred to dr. mostafavi. the previous orthopedic said that i did not need surgery and sent me on my way, dr. mostafavi had a very different outlook on the injury. during the inital consult, he spent the time and explained everything to me including what could happened if i decided not to go ahead with the surgery. from the very beginning i felt comfortable and trusted everything that he had to say and decided to have surgery. after surgery, everyone was very suprised how well i was doing and how i was able to immediately move my arm. hopefully i will never have the need for surgery but if i do, i know exactly where i am going.
