Dr. Hannah Lee Park, MD

Last year, I scheduled a routine eye exam for my son after he mentioned seeing objects with a double-layer effect. At the time of booking, I clearly informed the front desk that the appointment was for a routine eye exam. Since my 20-year-old son preferred to attend the appointment on his own, he went to the clinic without my company. To our surprise, he was charged $155, even though our co-pay for routine eye exams is only $10. When I called the clinic to inquire, I was told that they are eye doctors who handle medical issues, not vision care, and I would need to submit the receipt to my insurance for reimbursement. I did as instructed, but today, I received a bill for the exam because the insurance denied the claim. I feel misled by the clinic. When I made the appointment, I was assured that Dr. Hannah Park was in-network and that the exam would be covered under our plan. I do not understand why unnecessary exams were performed on my son, nor why the clinic is sending us the bill… for a payment that the insurance denied. Does the clinic not know how to correctly file claims with insurance? Or are they simply trying to overcharge patient for unnecessary services? I am extremely disappointed and request clarification and resolution regarding this matter.
