Dr. Hao Chanh Tran, DDS

Hello. Thank you for taking the time to visit. To tell you a little bit about Dr. Tran, he grew up in Oakland and Fairfield, Ca. He graduated from UC Davis with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior. Then he went on to dental school at Nova Southeastern University in Florida, which is one of the most applied to dental schools in the nation.
After completing dental school, he went on to complete a post-doctoral residency program in New York City, after which he stayed to continue to live and work. Dr. Tran has worked throughout New York City, treating people of varying degrees of socioeconomic background in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan’s Wall Street. He enjoyed his time in New York, but eventually decided to come back home to California and begin to settle down.
He has worked and scouted many areas of northern California, amongst which have been Placerville, Sacramento, Fairfield, and Vacaville. But he constantly felt himself being …drawn to San Francisco. So when the opportunity presented itself to establish a practice in San Francisco, he immediately seized it.
With regard to treatment philosophy, Dr. Tran does strongly believe in the patient’s autonomy. Meaning the patient should have the final say in what they decide should be done to their body. His role in your dental healthcare team is to diagnose the problem, tell you your options for treatment and his recommendations, and to perform the treatment that you and he believe to be the best for you in the situation. This is not a high pressure sales-oriented office.
In his little spare time, Dr. Tran enjoys active activities such as basketball, tennis, golf, weight-lifting, and hopes to do more traveling in the future. He has traveled to a few countries in Europe and Asia, and would like to ultimately go to Egypt due to his fascination with Egyptian history. He has also given much of his time to helping the less fortunate at Mission Solano homeless shelter, for which he received a commendation from the County of Solano.
Dr. Tran tries to make his relationship with you as open-ended as possible, so that there is a free flowing line of communication and information. He explains and shows everything that’s going on to his patients, and welcomes any questions or concerns that they may have. The staff in the office believes in the same as well, whether if it’s regarding their treatment or their finances. They all try very hard to make everyone feel comfortable and part of the family.
A personal note from Dr. Tran: “I am thankful for my accomplishments and achievements. I attribute them to the opportunities that have presented themselves through hard work, and when those opportunities were made available, I continued to work hard to make sure more opportunities opened up. If you allow me the opportunity to be your dentist, you will have my dedication to work hard for you.”
Linda is a graduate of the Foothill College, Dental Hygiene Program. She has worked in Dentistry her entire professional career. Her interests in Dental Hygiene are in the areas of Oral Medicine and Pathology. Linda enjoys working as a hygienist and finds it very gratifying to see patients take care of their teeth through better hygiene and home care.
She is married with three grown children. Her interests are knitting, reading and traveling with her family.
