Dr. Hardik J Mehta, MD

I saw Dr. Mehta a year or so ago for the first (and last) time and it was the worst experience I have ever had with any physician. I thought maybe he was having a bad day and I moved on. However, my elderly mother was in tears after her recent appointment with him. She recently had a heart attack (extremely healthy prior) and was having issues. She was experiencing severe shortness of breath and chest pain from a medication he prescribed (known side effect and says to stop if occurs). His response "I think a lot of your issues are psychological and if you ever have another blockage I probably wont treat it because you wont take the medication i prescribed". I am shocked by the rest of the reviews and assume negative reviews must be removed. We have now heard several very similar stories regarding Dr. Mehta, his bedside manner and patient care. My mom worked at a Novant hospital for years. Please find a different cardiologist that values your health and views you as an individual. It is… clear Dr. Mehta views his patients with a one size fits all, his way or no way approach.

My husband was treated initially at Novant Huntersville. My husband was seen by Dr. Mehta initially after very confusing sudden symptoms that was diagnosed finally as needing by pass. Was transferred quickly to Novant Main and Dr. Alan Johnson. Excellent care, clear guidance, great communication and dogged determination to find the problem. Cannot say enough about the care he and his team (Dr. Fisher) gave. My husband would not be alive today if not for these wonderful physicians and Novant staff.
