Finding an infectious disease specialist in Florida who genuinely understands, diagnoses, and knows how to manage severe, debilitating, and ongoing Lyme disease is nearly impossible. I am so incredibly grateful to be under the care of Dr. Haris Mirza.Lyme disease is a brutal, multi-system illness that I still fight every single day. It has devastated my body neurologically, cardiovascularly, physically, and mentally. My daily reality consists of severe cognitive deficits, memory issues, inability to concentrate, and debilitating fatigue, dizziness and headaches. Physically, it has caused intense spine pain, light and sound sensitivity, severe sleep disruptions, and distressing mood shifts. It has damaged my nervous system, leaving me with constant "pins and needles" in my hands and feet, a complete lack of spatial awareness, and causing me to constantly drop things. It has even impacted my cardiovascular system, making it an exhausting physical and mental battle just to get through… each day.While there are hardly any true Lyme disease doctors in Florida, Dr. Mirza stands out as absolutely the best. He understands the immense, systemic toll this disease takes on a patient. He is compassionate, highly knowledgeable, and completely willing to work with you no matter what obstacles arise in your treatment. He looks at the whole picture and ensures you get comprehensive care, including sending you to the necessary specialists to address how the disease impacts different parts of your body.The office staff at Ocala Infectious Disease and Wound Center is equally incredible and provides vital support for complex patients. They offer exceptional scheduling and communication, and they are always very quick to respond when I need them. The staff truly understands how this disease affects you neurologically and how easy it is to forget things; they go above and beyond to help with remembering appointments, scheduling, and testing, and they are always willing to kindly repeat things whenever necessary.If you are struggling with chronic and neurological Lyme disease in Florida and need a doctor and a team who won't give up on you, I highly recommend Dr. Haris Mirza.

This is a terrible doctor. I was diagnosed with Lyme disease in December after over a year of bizarre symptoms. I live in Orlando but had trouble finding a specialist to even take me as a patient. He did see me quickly and I was initially happy he took insurance, unlike many lyme aware doctors. He threw antibiotics at me indiscriminately and yelled at me for asking questions. He has a fragile ego and terrible bedside manner. He does not listen nor care about his patients. He should be barred from practice. Here are the diseases this "infectious disease" doctor missed: yersinia, mycoplasma pneumoniae, black mold, and yeast. He confirmed lyme, to his credit. He denied biofilms were an issue, which is patently false. My immune system apparently was damaged after a covid infection in 2020 and I've been deteriorating ever since. I have several additional health issues, which Dr Mirza completely missed. If you have anything more complicated than an acute Lyme infection, do yourself a… favor and call Dr. Tracie Leonhardt in Largo, FL. Seriously. She does not take insurance but I feel so much better after 3 days on her treatment plan. Thanks for further eroding my trust in the medical community, Dr. Mirza. Enjoy your karma.

Knows nothing about Lyme Disease. Was not prepared even though we sent over med records, he had not looked at them. Was rude and dismissive! Corrected him on his statements and he did not refute because he knew he was wrong. Need to be reported to Medical board.

I have been a Florida EMT for 22 years and my wife also works on the Cardiac unit of a local hospital. We have found Dr. Mirza and his wife who is a NP to be excellent competent professionals who care about their patients and provide quality healthcare. My mother who is a retired R.N. had some serious health issues and Dr. Mirza and his wife went above and beyond the call of duty to help my mother get well. The office staff is really excellent especially a Medical Assistant named Sherry who also went way out of her way to help my Mom. I am very careful who I choose to provide healthcare to myself and my family but would highly recommend Dr. Mirza and his wife. I would rate them as excellent in every way possible.

Questionable how this guy is board certified. Continues to treat a patient for a parasitic infection despite Mayo Clinic deeming them to be suffering from mental illness and with no infection. Regardless, treated with high dose antibiotics and antiparasitics for over 2 years, including when they moved out of the state and no longer saw him. Very irresponsible provider. Would advise finding a true infectious disease provider.

He diagnosis me the first time I was seen and treated. He is very caring with his patients. Lauren Mirza ARNP is awesome and very helpful and loving with the patients and especially when they are down and out.

This physician may know a great deal about infectious diseases, however he is a total condescending, pompous jerk. He demeans the patients and freely speaks poorly of other physicians. His bedside manner is absolutely horrible to say the least. If you have the option of using another infectious disease physician, by all means use someone else. Also, while we all know that physicians can run behind, expect a 2-3 hour wait on every visit. We've seen some changes in his staff over the past few months, which I would assume is due him speaking to staff in the same way he speaks to patients. A review of the Hippocratic oath is long overdue for this doctor.

Over all a good doctor. I think you needs to listen more critically to what you are telling him as a patient. He did good blood work on me and is trying to help me with my problem. Over all good. Just needs to listen a little more to the patient.

The office building is new but dirty, used cotton on the floor, dirty floors. Longest wait time ever .

I think Dr Mirza is a very caring physician and treats every patient as if they are of his own family. I would refer him to all my family and friends. Sometimes there is a wait, but it is worth it. He has really been able to improve my quality of life and my health.
