Continuing Education
Like many other professions, orthodontics continues to evolve and incorporate new technnology. In order to provide my patients with the most efficient, effective, and comfortable treatments, I must constantly attend continuing education courses in order to stay current with the new techniques and technology.
As a part of my continuing education, I am actively involved with the following professional organizations:
Seattle Study Club (NOVA …Institute for Advanced Dental Studies)
Invisalign® Advanced Training
American Association of Orthodontists Annual Meeting
Northern Virginia Orthodontic Study Club
In the Practice
I have been practicing orthodontics in Northern Virginia since 1982. Utilizing cutting edge technology to transform a person's smile into one that is both esthetic and harmonious is very rewarding to me. The best part of my job, though, is the personal connection I make with each patient. Orthodontic treatment is an ongoing process during which I form a bond with many of my patients. The relationships with my patients often continue long after orthodontic treatments have ended.
When you come to our office for an orthodontic appointment, the visit should be fun! We tell stories, have contests, talk about your school and your friends, and just try to have an overall good time. Our staff has been handpicked to be friendly, caring, and knowedgeable. Many of them have grown up right here in Northern Virginia.
Family and Community
I grew up in Baltimore, and have lived in Rockville for the last 20 years. I have three wonderful children named Dorie, Carly and Garrett. All of my kids are currently either in college or graduate school. In my spare time, I enjoy cycling, skiing, working out and reading. I also believe it is important to be involved in our community, and volunteer for various local organizations. I am a sponsored "wounded warrior" and "blue star banner family" for fourth of July. I am also involved with the annual candy buy-back program with the candy going to the soldiers in Iraq. I support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation as well as giving to help provide Thanksgiving dinners for the needy of Prince William County.
