IF YOU GET THE PRIVILEGE OF SEEING DR. GERMAN YOU ARE VERY, VERY LUCKY. HE IS THE GOLD STANDARD: PRINCETON PHI BETA KAPPA, COLUMBIA MEDICAL SCHOOL. BRILLIANT DIAGNOSTIAN. YOU JUST CAN'T GET A BETTER DOCTOR - ANYWHERE - PERIOD!!!

Dr. German is wonderful. He takes time with his patients, he is caring, a great listener and an accurate diagnostician. Don't be fooled by his wacky sense of humor. When it comes down to his work, he means business. His staff is also very nice. The only thing is his office could be cleaner, but I highly recommend him as a Dr.

Dr. German was one of the best doctors that I had the privilege of working with. He is both accurate and accomodating and very funny. The entire time I worked with him in taking care of my patient I I got to know him, and love him. The best doctor ever.

down to earth ,knowledgeable must bypass first impressions,precondition anybody you refer but speaking as a nurse-patient,his clinical expertise is excellent

At first, I tolerated Dr. German's appearance & the state of his office & examination rooms because I was told that he was brilliant. Well, this "brilliant" man has made 4 major medical "mistakes" with me in the last 4 yrs. ... 2 of which could have cost me my life.I am now actively searching for a new physician, but feel obligated to advise people about/against him, so let's just focus on hygiene ...At first, I thought the man was just unkempt - frazzled - eccentric - the "Nutty Professor" - I'd heard such great things about him ... until I suddenly realized that in 8 YEARS I have NEVER seen him wash his hands! Not coming into my room, nor upon leaving it. Not even when I was in the hospital! Nor does he wear gloves while checking you out, giving injections or taking blood. I *think* he might have worn gloves when he performed a minor surgical procedure on me several years ago, but I prefer to "not look" during that sort of thing so I can't be sure. And about the cleanliness of… the examination rooms ...They're filthy! The foam stuffing is protruding from the corners of the exam tables. Can you say "perfect housing for ... Germs? Bacterium? Viruses?"? The floor is black around the edges & in corners, & he stores his blood pressure cuff ... ON THE FLOOR! He hauls it up & puts it around your bare arm! There is always debris on the floor around the garbage & hazardous waste cans.Picture, if you dare, entering an exam room ... The paper on the exam table is torn & bears the obvious print of someone's buttocks. There's an open tube of KY jelly, squished in the middle, lying on the counter to your right, and a used exam glove on the floor by the garbage can. Oh, yea, & the BP cuff is still lying on the floor. He's taken the otoscope (ear thingie) out of my room, brought it back & used it on me. I've never seen him change tips. That's just a small sample of what I've seen/been exposed to & I have no idea why I put up with it for so long! I was told he was "brilliant". He is, after all, the Chief of Medicine at Huntington Hospital ... a place I've trusted & respected for over 40 years. I've no idea anymore what "they" are thinking.One thing I've learned here ... no matter what people tell you ... if a man looks & acts like a nutty, dirty psycho ... he IS a nutty, dirty psycho.At the very least, someone should send the Board of Health to inspect his facility. Yup. I will.There is a friendly atmosphere is the dirty (several weeks ago someone had apparently vomitted on the rug; it had been semi-wiped up, but not scrubbed nor disinfected), shabby waiting room. Dr. German sings & shuffles & folks laugh & talk. It *is* relaxing if you ignore what you see & don't mind waiting at least an hour. The atmosphere is grubby but fun. Everyone seems to know each other.Don't be sucked in as I was. Run away! Even a fledgling doctor is better than this slob. He's dangerous. Please, please, please ... find someone else.Truly, I have no personal axe to grind. I just don't want others to find out the hard way.

As others have stated, if you want pretty or fancy, go elsewhere. If you want quality care by an excellent diagnostician this doc's for you! Super staff too! By the way, do you know any other doctor who sometimes answers his own phone? I sure do!
