Dr. Harold Thomas Pretorius, MD

Have been seeing Dr. Pretorius for over a year now and have been in the bests health that I have been in the last 10 yrs. He has help me with my high sugar that has haunted me all my life and no other doctor even talked about it. I have reduce my weight and my high blood pressure medications. The staff is friendly. Yes sometime there is a wait just like other doctors offices they get behind. I have no problem with this because Dr. Pretoriou is worth the wait! If you want to feel better and are tired of all the medications you are taking go see Dr. Pretoriou!

Dr. Pretorius is an excellent endocrinologist and an astute internist with broad and in depth medical knowledge. His methods of approaching the diseases and treating them are creative and innovative, which makes him unique in his field. Alina Grigore, MD

One will never find a smarter more caring doctor than Dr. Pretourios. He has saved my life and a very good friend’s several times. He gives you all the time you need. It is not like a rush in and out visit. The most important issue is that he will do everything to help your problem. Because he is an independent doctor with privileges at many hospitals, he can visit his patients in hospitals . This is when you desire to see YOUR doctor not just a doctor who only works at the hospital.

He uses scans for everything which is costly he does not like to be questioned and it feels demeaning

Pretorius is an excellent doctor, however, often you will have to wait an hour to an hour and a half after your appointment has already been scheduled to get in to see him. The center issue: You will have to weigh the wait time against the quality of care. Most often I am cussing under my breath and ready to walk out of the office after an hour of waiting. On the flip side he certainly helped me get me diabetes in check.

Staff is extremely rude. Dr Pretorius sent me for multiple tests. I called the office to get the results and was told that she could read them but couldn’t explain them. She actually had a horrible time pronouncing the words. ?? He sent me for a liver scan a month ago. I just got the bill yesterday. Still no results. I was told from the staff that I needed to make a appointment to get the results. After being told several times not to make a appointment. ??Not going to happen. I can’t have them faxed to my new endocrinologist because there 68 people waiting on results. They’ve been waiting since 2015. The doctor himself seems very intelligent. You’d think he would have enough sense to hire a competent staff.

I have been a patient of Dr Pretoious for several years. Under his care, my diabetes and blood pressure is well under control. He is thorough, very analytical and a good communicator. I also want to note that Libby on his staff is excellent. She goes out of her way to do excellent work and follow thru. Ed Cummings

I agree worth all the other poor ratings. He rambled on about unrelated things, took phone calls then rushed me out after ordering tons of tests and prescribing things I doubt bed. Rude and doesn't listen, just wants to ramble about anything but you. He has a dump of an office but a very nice Mercedes. I'm using a complaint to whoever I can but it probably won't do any good.

I have been going to Dr. P. for 15 years now, today I was there and saw him, my name is Doug and I consider this man not only the best doctor in Cincinnati, but one of the best person that you could ever have the chance to meet, he cares about people and he takes the time to explain what your problem is and what you need to do to take care of it, and yes some times you may wait a little longer to see him but you'll never walk out of his office without a answer to your medical questions. Dr. Pretorius has the best office staff ever, they are great young people and I have a good time when I go and see them all. Dr Pretorius was also my Mothers and Fathers Doctor and they loved him very much. He took very good care of them.

Unprofessional staff, long wait times, they do not respect privacy, the doctor is very rude, and does not listen to your thoughts or concerns. He misdiagnosed me with MCI, and he told me that I would likely have dementia at a young age. He put me on unnecessary very expensive medications. I was diagnosed from a brain scan, and later told that this is something commonly diagnosed with cognitive testing. Bottom line--I do not have mild cognitive impairment. His inaccurate diagnosis changed my life in a negative way.
