Dr. Harold J Sherrington, MD

Dr. Sherrington is now 87 years old and retired. He did not return to his practice in 2019, and it was not necessary to have that comment added in 2019, almost 20 years after he retired. I always trust doctors, and I think what he did was right and that the patient was wrong. He did it for their safety, and the patient does not always know what could potentially harm them. “FYI” : that case did not end his practice, stupid

I felt compelled to write this review albeit 30+ years after the birth of my son. My first pregnancy resulted in a miscarriage while under Dr Sherrington's care and he did not perform a D&C until 10 months post miscarriage. I had bleeding and heavy periods during those ten months which clearly prevented me from getting pregnant during that time. Six months after the D&C was performed, I did become pregnant. During my labor Dr Sherrington made me labor/push for 9 hours before deciding to perform a C-Section. My baby was clearly at risk and my pelvic area was small and hence prevented me from giving birth vaginally. Dr Sherrington should have realized this early on during an exam. But he did not take any measurements. Thank God my son was fine;however he had facial bruising (from my pushing) and very dry flaky skin as a result of my water breaking at 4am —over 13 hours before the C-Section. This could have been a devastating outcome. FYI- Dr Sherrington was involved in a multi… million dollar malpractice suit which ruled in favor of the plaintiff (baby born with cerebral palsy) causing him to no longer practice obstetrics. However now I read he has resumed practicing Obstetrics which horrifies me. Be aware!
