Dr. Harold Williams Vanlonkhuyzen, MD

Best doctor I have had. I think he went to Harvard undergrad. Helped me through tough times in my life and corrected the problem other doctors couldn't seem to find. I highly recommend.

What a sweet angle this man is

Excellent doctor and really good person as well. Makes you feel very comfortable and asks intelligent and timely questions.Has a good feel for how patient is progressing or regressing. Keeps current about new meds and theories. Very easy to talk to.

The harm that this man can do is not balanced by his eagerness to treat people who will just nod and bow. Level of compassion or understanding of - anything? Zero

I've been through what has likely been the most difficult and stressful year of my life and have been dealing with significant anxiety issues as a result. I met with Dr. Van, who's a very nice and cordial guy, but after 90 minutes of talking with him, he basically said: Read this book and find a therapist. That's all fine and good for the long term, but not having had a way of adequately minimizing the anxiety in the short term left me leaving his office feeling even worse than when I went in.

Felt rushed, ignored, almost as if I was intruding on his time. He spent the whole appointment with me on the computer almost as if he were manually ...

But also very caring. Great doctor.

He does not provide long term therapy, but specializes in making the correct diagnosis, and prescribing the most effective medications. Dr, Van then turnshis patients over to other therapists, who continue to consult with him on a monthly basis. He is excellent, and these are the limits to his practice...
