Dr. Harriet Sheri Ackerman, MD

In my experience, most psychiatrists these days prescribe medication after 15 minutes of evaluation and then send you on your way with follow up appts every 3 months. Dr. Ackerman is a rare gem in that she is a psychiatrist that uses talk therapy as a component of her treatment strategy. Her approach to therapy is holistic and integrative and she holds a strong knowledge base of science-backed alternatives to pharmaceuticals for those wishing to go that route. Harriet is honest, kind and caring. She is incredibly smart and her insights are brilliant. I have seen a multitude of therapists in my life but not one has been as effective in fostering positive change as Harriet. I couldn’t recommend her more highly!

Dr. Ackerman may very well have saved my life with her patience, intelligence, and insight. I will forever remember her as the only psychiatrist I've encountered who increased my faith in psychiatry.
