She only spent a few minutes with me but that's the way medicine is these days. My one star rating is because the front office staff are rude and inconsiderate the office manager is worst of all. You get the answering machine even during regular hours. Lab staff are good, though.

Dr. Jones has been my family Dr. for 25 years. She is the very best. Takes time, willing to listen, compassionate, common sense, very knowledgable. Talked my wife into leaving her family Dr. a few years back and coming to Dr. Jones. She echo's everything I say here.

If you want a good family practice doctor, look elsewhere. That is unless you want to be completely treated by a Nurse Practitioner, never see a doctor, yet pay the doctor's fees. If so, this is the place for you. Your first greeting will be with you sitting in your underwear in a small exam room. Really a nice way to get to know your doctor, er, nurse practitioner. Then you will leave and receive a phone message to call a lab technician for the results of your lab work. That person, while a very nice person, will tell you about your new prescription. Why doesn't the doctor (there I go again), nurse practitioner tell you what the new prescription is for? Good question. I wouldn't know as she never talked to me. I had to learn from the lab tech and the pharmacist what the presciption was for. Made me feel all sorts of special. I don't think they really want my business as when I called at 1:30 I hit their answering service. Only the answering service wouldn't take a… message, that's only for emergencies. Trust me, if you have an emergency, call someone else. Family Practice of Hampton Roads really doesn't seem all that interested in your health.
