Dr. Harry M Engel, MD

I felt Dr. Engel did not want me as his patient from the start. He was more interested in knowing how I had found him as I have a public insurance. Although I have a cataract that I mentioned to him was now sufficiently impeding my vision, he said he would refer me to another doctor as he does not do cataract surgery. He told me that it would take several days for him to write me a referral. Something he NEVER provided. He also told me that I did not need to return to see him despite me having a retinal condition. He is the third retinal specialist I see in my lifetime and by far the chilliest in his interactions.

Performed an unnecessary laser treatment and ruined my eye! Arrogant, condescending, and rude. Go to any other retina specialist.

I liked Dr Engel when I first went to him, because he had a sense of humor and put me at ease. I hate going to eye drs. because they dilute your eyes and it takes a long time for these drops to wear off. the relaxed atmosphere helped me pass the time away without thinking the worst. I've only gone to him since I met him because he is patient and conservative in his approach. I would recommend him to friends and family. the wait time is tolerable (10 - 20 minutes has been my experience) thye office is clean and his exzamination room is sanitized. try him, I think anyone who sees him will want to make their next appointment with him.
