Dr. Harry Addison Snowdy JR., MD

Dr Snowdy was the Ortho assist surgeon during several hours of surgery from a car accident in 1993 that broke my back and neck. I was under the care of I supposedly the best neurosurgeon in the area that had missed the fact that there was also a break in the cervical spine. Refusing my complaints regarding dropping things from my hands I was told “to learn to live with my limitations”. As was the follow up for months on the spine surgery (that required rods,screws, fusion of 4 vertebrae) I would first see the neurosurgeon and then Dr.Snowdy. He found the problem and scheduled the necessary surgery but before that could take place I lost all feeling and movement from the neck down. On Christmas Eve Dr Snowdy rushed me into surgery. I credit him with the reason I walk today. He is the BEST orthopedic surgeon on the planet.

If this is the same Mr Snowdy that was at Blanchefield Community Hospital in 2005 I don't have enough respect for him to deserve the title of Colonel. I saw him after an injury I sustained while training to go to Iraq. I was referred to him to see if surgery was needed to help my back injury. Snowdy was arrogant at his first approach to say the least. He never looked at my exrays. He based his decision on observation and a little so called office test. His final decision was based on me being National Guard. Snowdy put me deployable. I replied to him by Sir. there is no way! I am in pain! I have a very high tolerance for pain and the push forward attitude, but there was no way. We " My primary care doctor and I" fought his decision for the next three months. Finally I med. boarded out. Due to all this undue stress his decision put on me, I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. I found out in 2010 I had broken 3 vertebrates which caused a domino effect in my back. I have seen several… Surgeons since trying to get help. I was told if the injury had been treat on the front end this could have been avoided. There was no way I could return to my civilian job. Now I have to have something to help me sleep, constant pain meds and injections every 2-3 months. I have prayed for him, but I do have a constant reminder of him every hour of every day and have had for the past 8 years.

very bad experience with this "Doc" his bedside manner was horrible, he made unprofessional comments to me and proceeded to make several more entries in my medical file without ever seeing me again, such as "he will be like Michael jackson in 6 months", "should not be in pain" although he has narrowing of his cervical spin, pressing on the cord and a complete collapse of the lumbar pushing on the nerve roots, my opion is this person is not a surgical canidate" what a quack!!!
