Dr. Harsha Vinayak Gopal, MD

Dr. Gopal is competent but is always so late. It is frustrating. Minimum wait time has been 45 minutes past my appointment time. Unacceptable!

My nose was damaged in a car accident. I visited Dr. Gopal, who is an ENT surgeon, to fix my deviated septum. He ordered a CT Scan and during my second visit he told me that in addition to my deviated septum my sinuses on left and right sides were clogged at 90% and 95% and I needed surgeries on both sides. He also prescribed strong antibiotics for three weeks and said if I don’t take the antibiotics my insurance company will not allow the surgery. I got a copy of my CT Scan CD and showed it to my nephew who is an experienced radiologist. He reviewed the images and confirmed the deviated septum, however, he said my sinuses were all clear!!! I didn’t need any sinus surgery that Dr. Gopal recommended, and I didn’t need to take the antibiotics. To make sure, I saw two other ENT surgeons and they both confirmed that my sinuses were clear!!! I am going ahead for my deviated septum surgery with the last doctor. It is really upsetting that Dr. Gopal recommended an unnecessary sinus surgery,… that could have caused complications for me, to make more money. Please be careful with his ‘expert’ opinions.

Dr Gooal is an excellent doc and was very compassionate. Although the follow up was originally scheduled a month later, by asking to be on the cancelation lost I was in again in a few days and the staff takes the acute cases into account when scheduling. Compassion is definitely stressed by the doctor and is followed by his staff. Dr Gooal made sure I under stood my condition and his decisions for my treatment plan.

Dr. Gopal is very knowledgable and approachable. Has an informal bedside manner that I found refreshing. He was good at listening and responding to questions as well as explaining technical issues in appropriate and understandable detail without talking down. I came to him with an existing diagnosis which he concurred with but he also discovered a second underlying diagnosis which seems to be the primary cause of my issues. So far his recommended treatment is working. I would recommend him without hesitation.

I never feel rushed with Dr. Gopal, and I ask a lot of questions (just my nature I guess). Prior to my septoplasty, Dr. Gopal went through my imaging results and explained what a normal septum looks like, what mines looks like and why he considered me a great candidate for the surgery. It would be my first surgery ever but I wasn't nervous because I knew I was in good hands. After my surgery, I had no complications and I've never breathed better in my entire life! It really did change my life as I can finally sleep better at night and I am never as tired as before. I recommend him to everyone.

Dr. Gopal is a very thorough doctor. He does want to help you with your problems. He proceeds carefully and slowly so that he can help you in the best way possible. That being said, his demeanor is horrible. It's not acceptable not to answer a patients questions and to act as if they are absurd. Connecting with his patients in a productive way is not his strong point.

Literally the most UNPROFESSIONAL DOCTOR I have ever been to in my entire life. Not only was his external appearance messy and not put together, but he seemed extremely disorganized. I waited for over an hour. Then, he proceeded to do several unnecessary 'tests' on me and have his office charge me for these tests, which had nothing to do with the minor consultation I was going to visit him for. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR TO ANYONE.

Dr. Gopal maintains a superbly professional practice. He is thorough in his medical evaluation and direct and informative in his clinical assessment. Each patient leaves the office with a written copy of his or her clinical note from that day's visit and a clear understanding of her treatment plan. TIme spent with the patient is the time needed for the patient to be medically served. My recent visits were so refreshing I felt compelled to share my satisfaction here.

Dr. Gopal is a fantastic doctor! He was very caring and comforting to me before and after my surgery. I would highly recommend Dr. Gopal!!
