Dr. Harvey Leonard Abrams, MD

The year was 1994 and Protease inhibitors were days away from being FDA approved. Earlier that year, my closest friend and the most wonderful human being I have ever met, was diagnosed with pulmonary KS, a form of lung cancer. Miraculously, he responded to chemotherapy and the lesions were shrinking, he left the hospital and returned to work. One afternoon, late on a Friday, he showed up at my door and asked if he could borrow some crutches which I sill had after breaking my knee. I asked why, and he showed me his foot which looked like something out of a horror movie. It was swollen and grossly discolored and obviously something was going on inside (not dermatological). If you saw it in a movie, you know the next scene, they would have been cutting it off, it looked that bad. He told me he was on the way to his primary care doctor at Pacific Oaks Medical Group. Unfortunately, no physician could see him, but the receptionist or a nurse sent him to Harvey Abrams' office. His… office prescribed Prednisone for the swelling, which any doctor will tell you is the worst thing to give to a KS patient. He had a complete relapse of the KS and died shortly thereafter. It was the worst experience of my life. And of course, weeks later Protease Inhibitors came out and I have no doubt that he would still be here but for the mistakes of that office. I see him strut around the gym, consumed in his own fabulousness and I want to vomit.

Harvey Abrams and his entire staff were incredibly kind, intelligent and fun .

I called to make a first appointment today with Dr Abrams, and I was told he is no longer with Wilshire Aesthetics, and he left suddenly and they have no contact info for him. I am bummed.

I have been trying to get my medical records from Wilshire Dermatology for three weeks. Eight days ago the excuse was given that Dr. Abrams was in NYC, had to approve my receiving the documents, and had to be paged. The page (I was told) was never answered. Now, today, Joseph Gaines the receptionist told me Dr. Abrams has returned and â??is reviewing your records right now.â?? When I inquired as to why they needed â??reviewâ?? he told me it was to make sure they were â??legibleâ??(!). I saw the records over the top of the reception desk when I was there personally to pick them up. There are only three pages and they did not look like they were illegible or required lengthy review. Now I am suspicious. What did the doctor really do to my face. He was so charming and gregarious, but all he could talk about was the miracle of silicone. He even used that on my face, before I did the research I should have done previously and learned experts agree silicone should NEVER even come near that… face! He wanted to restore my glutes as well as give me a â??chin jobâ?? (to spare me the cutting involved in an implant) usingâ?¦you guessed itâ?¦SILICONE! And the work he did on my face is failing, several other doctors have commented on it. I have signed a release they require to turn over my records, I have waited three weeks and called over and over for the last eight days, but nothing has been turned over to me. I am anxious and stressed and canâ??t believe I ever let my visage be worked on by this unprofessional man. If you want someone whoâ??s chatty and affable to have coffee with, Dr. Abrams is your man. For plastic or cosmetic improvements, I think not!

I have had several operations at the Wilshire Aestheticsmedical office. Dr. Abrams is wonderful to talk to and his work is first rate. I have sent 2 of my coworkers to him who feel the same as me.

I am looking for a good doctor that does a great job with Juvederm. I went to Dr. Abrams at Wilshire Aesthetics for Juvederm to smooth out my sunken eyes below my eyelids and he put it in unevenly. He told me that the results shouldn't look perfect or it will look fake, but I beg to differ. It made me uncomfortable going out in public. My eyes were puffy and I looked tired. I don't want him to touch my eyes again. This is what I want done and want to be sure that the doctor doing it makes me actually look good. I want to have Juvederm put under my eyelids to reduce the dark circles and smooth out my sllightly sunken eyes, nasolabial folds done and possibly a non-surgical nose job. If anybody can recommend a good doctor that is an artist and came inject the Juvederm to make me look good rather than just put it in and claim that a person shouldn't be perfect looking or it will look fake please let me know. Thanks.

Patients beware! He is a BAD doctor. Alter records, makes misrepresentation and lies under oath.STAY FAR AWAY - unless you want to be deformed for the rest of your life!
