Dr. Harvey Stuart Bennett, MD

He is a wonderful doctor. He treats my daughter as a child and not someone who has a medical issue. He gives straight answers. I feel very confident in having him treat my daughter.

We have been going here for years. It's impossible to get an appointment lately we have been waiting months!! My sons behavior has been a concern, I think the meds need to be changed and they don't seem to care. I have called 5 times to try to schedule and still had to wait a month to be seen. Best part is even telling them I have concerns and wanted to see Dr Bennett they still didn't try to get me an appointment with him. I'm currently looking for a new doctor.

Wait time for appointment was several months. Dr Bennett is pleasant but visit seemed a little rushed and was not as engaged as I hoped he would be Information discussed with secondary party should have been discussed with me

Is not interested in his job. Just wanted to push us away.

Need to listen to what the parents tell him

Never bring your child to this doctor. He should not be able to practice medicine. He was useless, made assumptions and needs to be put out of business. New child goes to him and he sees dollar signs. I'm pretty sure he's misdiagnosed a lot of children just for the money.

Dr.Bennett's solution to everything was to wait, he (my son) needs more time. I am still waiting for symptoms to get better after 3 months!!! Dr. Bennett still hasn't called me back after waiting over a week and a half for my son's MRI results!!! I have called him at least 8 times since the symptoms are worse and no response. He is horrible. Would he like to be treated this way if it was his child?

I have also read the reviews and heard the criticisms. I can't help but think that some of this is due to our desperate concern for our kids and wanting clear and quick solutions. I have a 13 year old, and what I have learned is that bedside manner does not matter. What matters is that you are well prepared and come with succinct questions and issues for these professionals who are in great demand. And, as a special needs parent, you have to realize that our kids keep changing and growing, and that diagnoses and viewpoints will vary depending upon the doctor and the child's age. We are the ones who figure it all out. Use these doctors as resources, but you are the one who knows your child and puts all of the pieces together. And BTW, always get on the cancellation list of any professional if you can't get an appointment fast enough.

I had read some negative reviews of Dr. Bennett before bringing my 2.6 year old in to see him. My son had some tics and anxiety, and Dr. Bennett was recommended to me by his pediatrician and his speech therapist. I had heard he wasn't too nice, and the reviews on line were pretty negative. Also, my son hates hates going to the dr or therapists. I also had seen Bennett's partner, Lazar for my other son, and didn't have a great experience. She was condescending and not appropriate with me as a parent of a child with a diagnosed problem. ANYWAY -- Dr. Bennett was great with my son - and with me. Totally respectful and listened to me - I could tell he valued my opinion on what we were discussing. He was good with my son, which can be hard if you are wearing a white coat. He was intelligent, nice, and seemed to know how to not go overboard with my son. He also gave me an 'insiders' thought on what might happen with my son's issues. All in all, I was really impressed with him. … I've already recommended him to another person. And, I'm relatively - more than relatively - I'm hard on doctors. I am one of those people who already think they know what's what. So thanks Dr. Bennett, and good for you for listening to me and making me feel respected and intelligent as well.
