Dr. Harvey Joseph Hakim, MD

My pharmacy told me my doctor suddenly stopped approving my prescription. The doctor did this 10 months ago because I didn't have a visit in 2 years and charged me for a visit plus $635 of tests. I called the doctor's office and asked why this time. They said it has been a year and I can't have the mediation unless I come in for a paid doctor visit. I reminded them that the the state of PA is in a virtual lock down and there could be sick people there visiting the doctor. I also reminded them that it has NOT been a year since my last visit, plus previously I went two year. They checked and said my last visit was in May of 2019 (9.5 months ago) but they still wouldn't give me my medication unless I came in for a paid visit or did a paid visit on the phone. This is taking advantage of an epidemic (COVID-19) for the sake of profit and putting people at risk, knowingly!

Dr. Hakim has been my GP for more than two decades. Quality of care has been first rate. George Joseph Associates recently changed their hospital affiliation to St. Luke's. Win/Win/Win for Joseph Associates, St. Luke's and patients.

I thought he was very kind and patient. He has the best bedside manner of any doctor I've had. I would highly recommend him. He both listens and follows up.

Let my husband walk on a broken foot for 4 days before I had to call myself & find out the results of his exam & xray. The office staff is wonderful. Dr Hakim doesn't seem to like when you ask relavent questions & seems condescending. His follow up is terrible. I'd like to say he may have been having a bad day but he's like that every time my husband or I ever saw him. When making an emergency appt I'd rather go to my pet's vet than get stuck with him. All the other Dr's are great. I've been a patient for over 20 yrs and have seen them all at one point or another. I don't recommend him at all.
