Dr. Harvey Charles Kreitzer, MD

Not a good experience with Dr. Kreitzer, I had been having some pain and usual bleeding for some time he dismissed my ultrasound told me they could not see my left ovary due to a bowel blockage and said I’ll see you again in 8 weeks just stop jogging and continue to take your birth control pill. Turns out 3 weeks later I went to the ER and they were concerned after the ultrasound and did a cat scan. I had a mass the size of a baseball. They sent me to see an oncologist gynecologist who was wonderful and helped me get this mass out our right away. I had a full hysterectomy in her findings I had endometriosis all over my uterus. No cancer. We know our bodies when something is not right. Dr. Kreitzer has no sympathy would never recommend him.

Went in for a prenatal appointment today. I forgot to wear underwear underneath my dress so the nurse gave me a disposable blanket to cover myself with on the bottom since I’d have to lift my dress up for the exam. Dr. Kreitzer came in, told me to lay on the examination table, pulled down the disposable blanket really far down, and touched my lower pubic bone with his finger for no reason and without any explanation before he swiftly moved his hands back up to to my belly to listen to my baby’s heartbeat. The touch made me uncomfortable and it only lasted a moment, but that combined with pulling the disposable blanket down really far without communicating what he was doing felt wrong. Ladies, if something feels off, trust your gut. You’re having those feelings for a reason. I will be filing a formal complaint with Sharp.

I had a HORRIBLE childbirth experience with him. I didn’t know the extent of the damage that he did or if he did so much damage I wouldn’t be able to have children again. My OB/GYN was not on call and I was stuck with Kreitzer. He came in AFTER the baby was born! The nurse delivered the baby alone even though my baby’s birth was considered high risk due to his heart rate dropping during labor. My placenta did not come out so he YANKED it for 30 minutes and RIPPED me beyond the actual birth. He SHOULD have taken me to the OR and used an ultrasound to safety and surgically remove my placenta. He left a piece in me because he did not adequately CHECK if he got all of it. The next few weeks I kept bleeding profusely and ended up in the ER with an extreme infection. I had to stay three days in the hospital on IV antibiotics before having surgery to remove the torn piece of placenta which had grown into my uterus. He was negligent EVERY step of the delivery. I will never forget how careless… he was. If you hear he is on call ASK for another doctor!

While others may have a pleasant experience with Dr. Kreitzer, mine was not the case. I found him to be very cold and judgemental along with the nurse who assisted him. I had an appointment with him today and walked away feeling like I had done something wrong because he did not take the time to be gentle and sensitive during my exam. New patients please be warned!

I have been a patient of Dr Kreitzer for over twenty five years. He is kind,compassionate, and truly listens. He doesn’t rush through the appt. and that is much appreciated.

Patient from 2007-2008 Maybe he is only nice to pregnant women? My experiences with him were very unpleasant, and at the time he was the only gyno at the RB facility that was available to see me. He was rude, demeaning & judgemental. He performed my tubal ligation. I remember him coming in after surgery angry with me because "it was a mess" and he had to do the procedure differently than planned. He went on & on about how I needed to be seen for something...I just got out of surgery & was waking up. Told him to go away & he said he'd talk to my friend that brought me in. He never said anything to the friend, no notes or follow-up to go with his rant. I refused to see a gyno for 5 years as the thought of this being "normal" was too degrading to tolerate.

So dismissive and negligent. How does this man still have patients? I'm glad other mothers seem to have had a pleasant and safe experience. But for all you new patients, do you really want to risk your health and that of your baby's?

I have seen Dr. Kreitzer since I was 18 and he first performed a colposcopy, and then years later when I had my children, and then years later again for all of my abnormal paps. He has always been conservative about performing procedures, and I appreciate that these days when it seems like everyone wants you to get 10 different tests done for something small. He is also very gentle, which is greatly appreciated for obvious reasons.
