Dr. Harvey Arthur Tatum, MD

Dr. Tatum is very knowledgeable of esophageal motility and pockets, Vagus nerve damage, and gastroparesis. Happily, he did not recommend surgery or any other invasive procedures for my issues. Instead, he provided me with some simple actions to take after eating, and they are making a difference. I hope they will help me gain some weight. Dr. Tatum answered all my questions, and did not rush me. We looked at my imaging videos together, and he explained what he saw was happening. I appreciate his showing me what is going on, and explaining it to me. He had a wonderful, gentle, patient way of interacting with me, and made me feel comfortable during the appointment. I highly recommend him.

Have had several GIs over the years but Dr. Tatum has been the best. His staff have helped work thru insurance issues and have never had a bad experience with any of them.

I really like Dr. Tatum. He has always taken very good care of me and my needs, some of them significant side effects from radiation treatments. He's personable, spends time with me, able to analyze symptoms as to what they indicate. Very capable. I recommend him to my friends.

He was very professional and was very helpful in answering questions that my wife and i had, very instructive about what the procedure was, the time it would last, I have no complaints

I went in for a diagnostic colonoscopy and my report stated it lasted 10 minutes. I have a kink in my colon and I'm sure he just didn't want to go any further. Then he came in and said everything looked fine and he would see me in 10 years. I took the whole bottle of Golightly and didn't go at all. So I know something is wrong. I also have gastroparesis. I had heard good things about him but I won't go back and my ob-gyn won't refer anyone else to him.

I have nothing good to say about him he is the coldest and non Sympthatic Dr I have ever seen He seems all nice and all at first but then goes down from there he would leave you out to dry I would recommend him to my worst enemy

I saw him for digestion issues and hoped I'd get some answers, but I got zero ideas what could have been causing it. He seemed annoyed I even came to him.

Harvey Tatum is a competent physician, albeit completely lacking in bedside manner. That can be tolerated. What can't be is the incompetence of his office staff, which also says something about him. Tasks went undone, phone calls unreturned, and my husband spent six months waiting for the staff to make a 3-minute phone call for per-authorization of a medication to treat a serious condition that will only get worse. In other words--we are not impressed, nor, as of today, a patient.
