Dr. Harvinder S. Sandhu is Co-Chief Emeritus of HSS Spine and is an Attending Surgeon at HSS specializing in minimally invasive spine surgery, robotic surgery, and the use of spinal biologics to enhance healing. He completed his spine training at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles and was subsequently Chief of the Spinal Surgery Service at UCLA until his recruitment to HSS. He is currently a Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine and Medical Director and Chief of HSS Orthopedics with Stamford Health. Dr. Sandhu is also actively engaged in researching and developing medical devices and instruments used in spinal surgery and holds several patents. In addition, he has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications and has received numerous awards from the North American Spine Society, the Orthopedic Research Society, and the International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine, including the prestigious Volvo Award in spinal research. This a bit late, Dr. Sabdhue removed bone fragments from the nerve root of the L2. He listened and explained the process so at least my wife understood. W I was unable to lie on my back for months need help getting dressed. I was out of HSS in 24 hours. This was approximately 2010. His office staff (Maryann) equally accommodating
