Dr. Hassan Salhani Almaat, MD

I am a pharmacist working in a multi specialist office so I understand healthcare quite well. He is only concerned with liability and refuses care to a stable schizophrenic who was honest, kind , and willing to change his care plan to whatever dr. Almaat suggested. This included temporary hospitalization to transition to another medication (meaning high unnecessary hospital costs). Keep in mind schizophrenic Pts never willingly go to the hospital if they are unstable. Transitioning therapies is something that can be done outpatient safely. So when my father agreed to inpatient he quickly said well my hospital does not take Medicaid...Instead we left the office with you seem like a really good guy but you should go to a community health center. Implying just because my dad has Medicaid he cannot be seen in a private physicians office. This tells me he does not manage schizophrenia often and the idea of someone with delusions is a liability to him. Keep in mind he is a psychiatrist...

and his receptionist is worse

I went for help and what I got was treated rudely. This guy doesn’t care, he’s just another middle aged foreigner trying to put women back a century or two . Argumentative and unprofessional, office is nasty tacky.

He is a man who immediately made me feel comfortable. Not only does he explain and obviously understands the complex medication in order to best prescribe what would help the most, but he listens. he listens and responds and does not judge. that is sometimes a rare quality. i felt i could really relax and tell him my situation. i highly recommend dr. almaat

When initially making my appointment I asked the receptionist for specific billing and she said yes. I also called back two days later to confirm and she said yes again. I took off work and went to my appointment, got there and Dr. Hassan said “No.” I advise Dr. Hassan that I was told differently. He asked and the receptionist lied and said she didn’t tell me that. This was very unprofessional as I made accommodations to attend my appointment and to pretty much be called a liar is upsetting. What a waste of time!!!
