Dr. Hassan M Makhzoumi, MD

I am so upset and disappointed by the terrible experience I had with Dr. Hassan M Makhzoumi and his office in the 1700 block of York Road. Having a scary breathing issue, I made the appointment and waited weeks for it. At 3:14 p.m., as I was driving to my appointment -- which was to begin at 3:45 p.m. -- I got a call from the office asking if I was on my way because I was the doctor's last patient of the day and he wanted to make sure I was coming. I said I was on my way and minutes away. In trying to find the office, I got mixed up in the 1200 block of York Road and called at 3:30 p.m. for help to find the office. By 3:34, I had located the office, but was told not to bother coming because the doctor wasn't going to wait for me if I was five or more minutes late. The receptionist told me that, although my appointment was for 3:45 p.m., I needed to show up at 3:30 p.m. to fill out new patient paperwork. I was treated by this doctor and his office like me, my time and the issue… I am having was not worth waiting five minutes to accommodate a person who had trouble locating a new office. In the end, I drove past the office four minutes after my scheduled arrival time as a new patient. I will not reschedule with this office and I would encourage everyone else to look elsewhere for a pulmonologist. If the doctor was not willing to wait five extra minutes, how much attention would he have given me during my appointment? I am sure this doctor and his staff would appreciate the opportunity to be met with compassion, understanding and flexibility if they were in my shoes. I took time off work, made a good faith effort to be on time to my appointment and left having my health issue unresolved. *As a note, the receptionist said my appointment time was set for 3:30 p.m. It was my understanding when I made the appointment that it was for 3:45 p.m. with the request I arrive at 3:30 p.m. to fill out paperwork. I see on my MyChart page that there are two entries for my appointment, the first lists it as 3:45 and the second lists it as 3:30. If it was changed after it was set, I was not notified.

I was a patient of Dr Hassan Makhzoumi and I had to come back for a 10 minutes for a visit I explain to the young lady at his office that I can’t take off twice because I didn’t have the days . I had already took off 3 times . Once for him to tell me he’s going to order the machine they the next one was me picking it up and the next one dropping it off . So she told me the next appointment will be ten minutes I explain to her again my doctor wanted me to come back for another sleep study . So I can’t take of for tens minutes then make another appointment for him to tell me come again to pick up another machine. So ask can he call me she got mad and rude . So I call back to make appointment Ranae kelp me on hold for 15 minutes I kelp calling back she wasn’t answering for 20 more minutes . Then She answered Put on hold . Came back after 5 minutes Then I give her my information she told I’m no longer a patient of Dr. Hassan Makhzoumi no more . I ask why she said she didn’t… know for me to get in touch with so people I don’t have no association with. Now they where rude to me and he wasn’t even professional anuff to hear my side . That tell u alot about him .

This doctor is the most professional, kind specialist I have ever seen. He treats me like an individual rather than just a bunch of numbers on a test. He took as much time as was necessary to make me feel comfortable with my particular medical condition.

What a wonderful man and excellent doctor.
