Dr. Haviva Veler, MD

My visit w/Dr. Veler was very reassuring. We were seen on time, and the evaluation in conjunction with a psychologist was helpful. The doctor was knowledgeable, had a good bedside manner and communicated well with me and my daughter. We were given a clear diagnosis and explanation for how to treat and monitor.

Dr Veler charges $595 for a 20m consultation without any test, and then doesn't let you in when you arrive 20m late to your appointment...

I took my toddler to Dr. Veler because of suspected sleep apnea. Dr. Veler ordered a sleep study, which was performed rather poorly by the lab techs at Cornell. In spite of the insufficient results (only 3-4 hours of data), instead of ordering a new sleep study. Dr. Veler ignored the obvious signs of sleep apnea (snoring, gasping during nighttime breathing, etc.) simply concluded that I needed to sleep train my child better and referred me to a child psychologist. Instead, I got a second opinion from Dr. Lamm at Columbia, and re-did the sleep study at Columbia. It turns out that my daughter in fact does have sleep apnea, and is now getting surgery. Dr. Veler is flippant and unprofessional--avoid her. Dr. Lamm, by contrast, is fantastic--thoughtful, measured and professional.
