Dr. Hayat M Heriba, MD

DO NOT VISIT THE DR HERIBA I would not recommend this doctor. In my experience, she seemed more focused on money than on her patient’s health. I went to her for stomach issues along with hives. Instead of ordering tests to find the root cause, she kept prescribing medication. I had to repeatedly ask for an H. pylori test, and even then, I was told I needed to come back for another visit just to see the results. Although my stomach symptoms improved slightly, I continued to have hives. She told me it was due to depression and anxiety and prescribed medication for that, without properly investigating other possible causes. At that point, I lost confidence in her knowledge and care. I later saw a gastroenterologist who was professional and thorough. They ordered the necessary tests and found that I had significant abdominal inflammation. I believe I should have been referred to a specialist earlier instead of being kept on unnecessary medications.

I had an absolute terrible experience at the doctor office and i feel compelled to share it so others don't go through what i did. From the start she was unprofessional and dismissive, she didn't ask me about my health concerns or even attempt to have a proper conversation about what i've been experiencing. instead she wasted time on idle chatter and ask irrelevant personal questions. as a primary care doctor she was supposed to provide me with compassionate care but instead she body-shamed me in a way that was cruel and unnecessary. discussing a patient weight is sensitive and there is a professional way to approach it but she was rude and left me feeling humiliated. The most traumatic part of my visit was the procedure she performed, it was my first time undergoing this type of procedure and it turned out to be a painful and emotionally scarring experience, i was crying from intense pain and despite all my visible distress she continued. instead of showing care or empathy she… dismiss my pain and accused me of being uncooperative, her approach was cold, rough and completely devoid of compassion. After this i was in so much pain and still emotional about it and I stepped down to get dressed, while I'm there searching through my pile of clothes literally crying from the experience and the pain her question to me AT THAT TIME was "Did you go to school?" I answered her without paying fully attention because I was still shocked by what had hsppen seconds ago she continued her questioning with did you complete school? And asking if that's all I did. Like come on! Is that the time to be asking such question? And what does that have to do with what was going on?! After rethinking it, it made me feel like she thinks I'm not that smart it made me feel like she looked down on me and underestimate me. Now probably this wasn't her reason but this is how she made me feel. Her approach was unprofessional. this experience has deeply traumatized me and now im very very scared to undergo a procedure like that again!. her lack of care and understanding during the procedure has caused emotional damage that will take time to recover from it. the trauma has also affected my personallife as i constantly relive the experience and feel anxious at the thought f seeking medical care in the future. As someone with experience in the medical field, i know how this procedure should be handled- with patience, kindness and sensitivity, unfortunately she demonstrated non of these qualities instead she left me feeling emotionally wrecked and terrified. if you're looking for a primary care physician who truly listens, care and handle patient with dignity then this is not the doctor for you. i cannot recommend her and i hope others are spared from the pain she caused me.

Dr. Heriba and staff are the "Best of the Best" We are a retired military family, and Dr. Heriba has been our family doctor since 1992. She is a very caring and knowledgeable doctor; as well as a good listener and communicator. Dr. Heriba , has also been the family doctor of my grandparents and they had lived well into their nineties. Recently Dr. Heriba came to my rescue and saw me as an emergency patient vs sending me to the hospital during this pandemic. She did an exceptional job of suturing my lower lip, that was split open in many placed due to a fall / face first onto concrete. My recent follow-up appointment was fantastic and Dr. Heriba's minor surgery, was a success (back to normal & looking good). In the past, she was able to diagnose two life threatening events and refer me to specialists, that resulted in possibly saving my life . My husband and I highly recommend Dr. Heriba, to anyone needing a family doctor, that can be trusted and depended on to manage your families… health care. Vicki and Richard Plaskiewicz

I went to see her because she requested I come in so she can help me with the issues I've been having with my gastrointestinal system. (I recently had my gallbladder removed because I had gallstones) When she first walked into the room, she asked me why I had been to the emergency room after my surgery. I explained that I have been experiencing pain, nausea, and vomiting. She then proceeded to accuse me of being dramatic about my pain and told me that I should have gone to her office instead (which you have to wait at least 2-3 days to get an appointment). I tried explaining to her that I had no choice but to go to the emergency room because it was 4 in the morning and the pain had gotten so bad I could barely move. She looked at me as if I was an idiot and repeated that I shouldn't have gone to the emergency room. I promptly let her know that I didn't appreciate her being rude to me and accusing me of faking my pain. Please do not go to this doctor. It is clear that she does not know… how to properly treat her patients nor does she care to.

If I could give Heriba, Hayat M, MD a 0 stars or a -100% for effort personally I would. Nothing perosonal Dr. Heriba. Nothing personal at all. At this point in your career madam you need to retire and not falsely continue to practice and only seeing patients when you feel like it or sending them to your PA when they are scheduled to see you. Your explaintation today in your office was absolutely unprofessional and ridiculous. If I ... patient ... is paying your cost and scheduled to see you... said Dr. whom I requested when I made the appointment. Whom I seeked out on the internet based on personal experiences from preevious patients with you not your PA. Based on my insurance website stating you are the said Dr accepting my insurance. The excuse you gave me today as to why i could not see you was bc I refused to see your PA today.you stated that you cannot see me all the time that you are in the office and the PA goes to you for answers and I should not expect to see you EVEN… WHEN I WAS SCHEDULED TO SEE YOU OR REQUESTING TO SEE YOU. I’m paying to see you Dr. Heriba.... not your PA. I want to see you in the room to tell you about what my issues are. Not your PA. In conclusion... If anyone decides to use this doctor for the first time ... don’t bother. People who are busy like I am don’t have time to waste money on a doctor who gives an excuse that she is not always in the office her PA’s see her patients most of the time. Or You are in the office and you can’t see patients? Even if the person who took your appointment said you will be available and you were but still a PA does your job and runs back like a secretary finding answers for you based on the PA’s assessment? Nice. I want your job! Anyway... as a patient...That’s not what you want to pay for. I want you to know doctor that when I requested you when I made my appoint with you weeks in advance I asked my job for this day off working 9’days straight 15 hours a day on my feet. I’m a senior manager at a famous fine dining restaurant that does not give days off kindly on days requested So thank you for wasting my time today and refusing me service bc I didn’t want to see your PA and waited in the lobby until you arrived to work finally to see you LIKE I REQUESTED WEEKS BEFORE! Again... nothing personal ;)

She is awesome! She is easy to talk to and takes care of all issues rather than just one, a lot of doctors will tell you that you have to make an appt. for each issue. She listens and you can tell she genuinely cares for her patients. I would definitely recommend her to any family /friends looking for a great Doc!

My visit with Dr. Heriba was excellent. The staff was very competent, courteous, and accommodating. The Doctor put me at ease right away and took her time explaining everything. She really knows what she is doing. I left the office feeling good about my health and knowing I have the support and guidance I need. Thanks!

I have always been very satisfied,with Dr. Heriba's abilty to diagnose, identify, & treat whatever ailments, I have had in the past .I'm especially pleased with the knowledge and professionalism of her staff. Debra A. Kline
