Dr. Hayley Jayne Golek, DO

I went to Dr Golek the sickest I have ever been. She was as always super busy and quickly misdiagnosed what was actually sepsis as "what's going around". It wasn't & I ended up hospitalized the next day in horrible agony, after an ambulance ride and emergency surgery. Worse tho, I needed a month of IVs at home & my primary dr's help to set that up. A 10 min phone call on her end to give an ID# and prove I have a primary care dr basically. But of course Golek couldn't be bothered. I needed this to be discharged, so I spent THREE EXTRA NIGHTS in the hospital while she couldn't be bothered to call back & her awful office staff was super abusive to me and hospital caseworkers trying to help me get free. I begged her to call back, as a single mom with NOBODY nearby, a week in the hospital was bad news. Her office finally did call back, to say no, she won't help me. The caseworker didn't know how to tell me, she said that had never happened before, they were stunned by how cruel it was. It… was the hardest I've ever cried, being stuck there indefinitely in so much pain in a freezing 4 person room where the lights never went off for long, all because my dr won't do anything she can't bill you for. She never even called me, just left me there to rot after blowing us off for 3 days. Fortunately a hospital doc felt bad and volunteered his ID# (not even 10 minutes) and I was able to finally leave. When interviewing my new Dr, I asked it she would have had an issue and she said "Of course not, your doctor is your doctor in an emergency too, that's our deal!" Finally found a good one. Your primary is not just check ups. They can end up holding your whole life in their hands. Do better than Golek. She is an absolute monster and is definitely in the wrong profession.
