Summary
Dr. Melugin has been a fellowship-trained, sports medicine orthopedic surgeon for CoxHealth since 2022. He specializes in minimally-invasive and complex surgery of the shoulder, hip, knee, and elbow. He grew up in Springfield and was an All-American soccer player at Missouri State University. He graduated number one in his class from the University of Kansas Medical School and went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at Mayo Clinic. He was awarded the Clinical Competency Award by the Mayo Clinic upon graduation. He completed a fellowship in sports medicine at The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado. He has cared for multiple professional and Olympic athletes. Dr. Melugin has authored over 30 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters and has presented numerous times nationally and internationally.
