Dr. Heather Denise Adkins, MD

I hate to submit a negative comment, because it seems that she really does care. But Dr. Adkins’ customer service skills are terrible. I saw her one week ago today and her notes have not been finalized, nor has she submitted the prescriptions we discussed during the visit. I’m now running out of meds. This is not the first time I have experienced her disorganization and terrible follow through. The nurse can’t submit my preauthorization for Botox until Dr. Adkins’ notes are entered and finalized. Something like this happens at every visit. This time it was her computer not working. Previously they had no internet. It took the nurse 45 minutes back then to locate a paper lab request. I never got a call to tell me that my lab work results were back. Nobody called. I had to wait until my next appointment to find out what my results were.

Not only did they open the office and hour late, the doctor showed up to work an hour and half late. I was evaluated and after one week I still hadn’t received my medication (and now almost 3 weeks later still no medication) Plus, I received a bill for my Co Pay that I paid already. This is NO way to run a business. I do not recommend this practice. I canceled my future appointment and will not go back.

Dr. Adkins is in my opinion the best neurologist to she if you have chronic migraines or headaches. She is through and does not leave any stone unturned with diagnosis and treatment. Head pain is a very tricky thing. There are no labs or test that can be ran to diagnose. Dr. Adkins takes the time and really gets to know her patients pior to treatment. I highly recommend her if you’re have any kind of chronic head pain.

Dr. Adkins is a very caring neurologist who has been very effectively treating me for migraine headaches for several years. I highly recommend anyone with any type of headache or related condition see Dr. Adkins.

I can't say enough how amazing Dr. Adkins is and how grateful I am for her. My medical history is very complex, for the last 14 years every doctor ended with the same, we just don't know. I was frustrated and losing hope when I was referred to Dr. Adkins. Even when tests came back negative or inconclusive she NEVER gave up and now we finally have answers. Due to the miltary I now travel from CA to see her because not only is she caring and compassionate, she is the best specialists I've seen.

After over 40 years of inadequate treatment, Dr. Heather D. Adkins’ willingness ot listen to my account of effective and ineffective treatments was refreshing. During the seven years I’ve been her patient, her specific knowledge and compassion for headache suffers, along with her treatment recommendations, has resulted in the best quality of life I’ve experienced in decades. I consider my 320 mile round-trips a small inconvenience, considering the benefits.

Dr Adkins is great! She is so patient and takes all the time needed to answer any and all questions!

I have been a patient of Dr Atkins over 6 years. She has always treated me as person first, not just a medical diagnosis. She takes time with her patients, she listens, and she individualize her care to each patient and their needs. I have sent family members to her who also had chronic pain. They were more than happy with the care they received.
