Dr. Heather Back

Dr. Back has been my PCP for roughly two years now ,and has seen me for a variety of different illnesses. She had an excellent bedside manner, patiently listens to all questions and concerns you may have, and, most important to me, for a given diagnosis, she tells you what your treatment options are, rather than just telling you what you WILL NOW take, and what you WILL NOW do. She is also not one to immediately recommend the most expensive or complicated option. Almost always, she prefers to start conservatively (assuming the illness will allow it), then work up to more aggressive treatment as needed. I have not hesitated to immediately suggest Dr. Back to friends and relatives in this area who may be looking for a PCP they can trust.

At first, she seemed nice, but... I was concerned over a lump I found, I go in to have her see and get me in... She sends me to solis, I go, as fast as I can, after all..it's my idea, I was very concerned...I made the appt.... But after 3 weeks, her office calls, saying I need to see dr....soon as she opens door, she raises her voice! " why come to me for help, if you are not gonna do what I ask you to do!!??! What? I tell her, I went!! She says..i will see about that, I will call!!...omg.. As if I was a child!& I heard her laughing on the phone, rude.. Seems solis sent the records to wrong dr.!! I say I will not pay for this office call!! She says as she looks down on me..oh yes you will!.... It was the most condescending situation I have ever been in...I got sick a few days later, I go in, she was gone, had a substitute dr...I notice her reading a slip of paper in my file!! Stating, " patient refused to cooperate with instructions of dr.!! I FOUND THE LUMP, I was concerned, it… was my idea to have it looked at..she should be apologizing to me! Not humiliating me! I changed drs.

Her bedside manner is Extremely professional,she listens intently to your concerns and her diagnoses are right on track. When I've had to call back for a question however, her staff is short and not very helpfull at all. I've been placed on hold for as much as 15 minutes which is annoying. They are NOT very good about returning phone calls after I've left messages. Overall, her staff doesn't hamper me from remaining her patient as I really am pleased with her.

My family and I have been seeing Dr. Back for years, ever since she moved to Weatherford. She is an awesome doctor, very easy going and takes time to listen. She and her NP both genuinely care for their patients, and are VERY competent. In response to the previous comment - Are we even talking about the same office? I have never had any problems at her office. Makes me wonder if maybe she didn't prescribe the drug you were wanting because it was unsafe for you!

I could have gone lower, but the fact is that I have never even met the doctor. However, this did not stop the physician from stopping a medication I had been on for over 20 years. Her reasoning being that she just wasn't comfortable continuing it without sending me to other doctors. Lets be clear, Ive been to the other doctors. That is why I had an active prescription. What makes me uncomfortable is a doctor I have never met (I saw a very incompenant nurse practitioner) stopping a medication I take regularly for an indefinite amount of time. That is 3 hours of my life that I will never get back.

Our grandchildren have been seeing Dr. Back for several months. Their care has been thorough and their treatment has been right on. We appreciate Dr. Back's office staff in the Weatherford location, and the kids are comfortable with her and love her waiting room, toys, books, etc.

Her nurse was wonderful. Very caring and thoughtful.

Each time in the last several months that the pharmacy has called to ask for a renewal of an expired prescription, I have had to check back repeatedly because the doctor or nurse's call is delayed, usually for at least two days. What is the problem? This does not reflect well on the efficiency of your office.
