Dr. Heather Amanda Baxter, MD

I was having a complex health problem affecting multiple systems and Heather suggested anxiety medication because she thought the health problems were giving me anxiety. She did absolutely nothing for my actual health problem, which fortunately spontaneously started to resolve in its own after being disabling for 2 weeks.

I’m very picky about doctors. Dr Baxter is exceptional. She listens to what I’m saying and she obviously cares about her patients. I’m very happy with her.

I met with Heather Baxter today for a first visit. She was relaxed and unhurried, taking a long time to get to know me and my concerns.

The Renown President talks about treating people not patients. Dr. Baxter gets it. She takes the time to LISTEN and converses with "people" to find solutions. It is so refreshing compared to a practice where the PCP has the communication skills of a punch press. A PCP Doctor is a tough job in medicine seeing perhaps 20 "people"in a day. It's nice to be treated with concern and respect. Dr Baxter coordinated my care with other specialists to come up with practical solutions to my medical issue. Thank you Dr Baxter. I respect you and appreciate all you have done for me. I'd be honored to have you in my corner until the end.

FINALLY A DIAGNOSIS.

Dr. Baxter just saw my mother in a new patient consult, and I accompanied her for the entire visit. She is efficient, thorough, and very knowledgeable. Her staff is efficient and caring.

Dr. Baxter and her staff are very pleasant and easy to work with. Dr. Baxter has a very caring, understanding and easy approach. I was very impressed to find that she had looked through my records and educated herself on my prior history before seeing me as a new patient. I recommend anyone looking for a PCP to Dr. Heather Baxter it’s an easy and good choice. Renee Goad

She isn't capable of answering a question directly nor is she able to make a clinical diagnosis without the help of someone else telling her what it is. I found her to be somewhat paranoid an very judgemental do yourself a favor if she tells you you have something get a second opinion.

Dr. Baxter, is one of the unfortunately BAD doctors that are employed to help veterans, but does the reverse. She is an egotist at heart, and does not listen to the patients issues even when they have been seen and treated by medical professionals with vast experience. She does not listen to your concerns and is more concerned about getting you out of her office then spending time determining proper medical care. She will constantly point out that she is the Dr. if you ask about your conditions. Unfortunately the VA does not have many options for you to change providers so make sure you document your issues to cover yourself.
