Heather Shannon-Leyh Bourkovski, DO

My wife had the miss fortune of going to this person based on a recommendation. She was, as we see now, clearly showing many signs and symptoms of cancer but Bourkovski wasted months on treating a minor yeast infection as well as giving her a medication we find out can actually make the cancer worse! Even when Bourkovski was shown blood in the discharge, which she realized was bad, she was still in a stupor ordering an ultrasound rather than a full biopsy! A fibroid caught her attention but a real doctor pointed out that would not be causing the issues. Bourkovski was going to wait an additional two months to examine further! Luckily there is a competent doctor in the office, Lori Whitman, who got right on it and finally the cancer was, hopefully, removed. However because of the incompetence of Bourkovski many months were wasted and now we are at the Mayo Clinic for radiation treatment. A less negligent "doctor" could have prevented this.

Did not spend much time with me, not caring, will not be going back.

I just love her! She has been my doctor for almost four years now and I couldn't ask for a better one :)

Will never recommend this doctor to anyone for any reason

I saw Dr. Bourkovski for my second pregnancy and she has always been an amazing doctor. She always tried her best to be the one there for every step of my pregnancy and labor including all the questions that arise. Her nurse is very sweet and always makes sure you are comfortable. I had a few life changes that happened during my pregnancy and Doctor B was there for me 100% and then some. I suffered from post partum depression and she made herself available to me even after hours. My daughter ended up with a severe milk protien allergy and even after my care was over both her and her nurse went out of there way to help and give support any way they could. I couldnt be more grateful for having chosen her for my doctor.

I seen Dr Bourkovski for a few years now for pregnancy and other female care. I never had a complaint about her. I feel like she was open to listening about my problems and always had an answer. She was awesome during the c-section and made the scar look better than last dr. I have no compaints at all!
