Dr. Dowdy is rude! She got into the wrong profession.

I don’t know why Dr. Dowd is getting these horrible reviews . We’ve seen just about every specialist at CHOP, NYU, Jersey Shore, RWJ, MSK Weill Cornell, HSS and Columbia to find out what’s wrong with my son and I for over 10 years. I met her online and she was 100x more competent, empathetic to my special needs son than most of the doctors that I’ve met on these services or in person. My son was very scared whether he had to go to the ER and she eased his fears and explained what we needed to do after my son caught a virus going to an assembly in school last week to get his award while on homebound. She was so good that we are going to use her as my son’s pcp despite being 45 minutes away from the opposite direction . She showed me how to examine his stomach and to see whether he’s hydrated on the camera. My son is extremely complicated and she completely understood and was excellent. I see the rockstars of medicine in Manhattan and she is just as good as them or… better.

Dr. Dowd is extremely rude. She seems to be more concerned with her ego than she is with the patients and their families. I wouldn't speak to a stranger on the street the way she speaks to people. Horrible person.

Not nice to patients and or staff. Extremely unprofessional and appears to hate her job and or career choice. Not a nice person it doesn't seem.

Bad attitude. Condescending and appears very slovenly and unprofessional. She had medical students with her and they were nice but she yelled at them and was very nasty to them. Stay away from this mean girl

Worst bedside manner ever, downright hostile and bullying, and terrible and terrifying judgement calls

She treats residents like inferiors and enjoys making snide remarks to her colleagues because it makes her feel better about herself. She should be embarrassed of her behavior.

I second the previous poster's theory that she has some serious ego issues. She walks around with a terrible attitude and a sense of entitlement thinking that she can talk to people however she pleases.
