Dr. Heather Maria Jackson, DO

I do write more positive reviews than any other, but I am having to go with negative this time. My previous physician, who I really liked, left this practice to take another job. I stuck with the practice and her replacement b/c of convenience. Unfortunately, Her replacement, Dr. Jackson has been a disappointment. She doesn't give you the impression that she really cares. Doesn't listen well and does not read the medical chart. I have had wrong prescriptions phoned in twice and when I complained about side effects of my meds. She said come back in 6 wks for more blood work and we can talk about it. In the mean time, I'm suppose to continue taking necessary meds that make me miserable and may be harmful to my health? Needless to say, in pursuit of a new medical gate keeper.

Dr. Jackson's receptionist Olla should take some communication classes or the office should look into hiring another receptionist.

Excellent diagnosticion and awesome bedside manner. I loved her!! I felt safe in her hands.

Dr. Jackson is pretty nice and listens pretty well. But she has some sort of blind spot regarding thyroid medication. Despite my numbers still being quite high she acted like she was about to take away the small amt I was on when she should have been increasing it despite my complaints. Another Dr., without a word from me increased my dose and I feel TREMEDOUSLY better. All Dr. Jackson wanted to do was put me on an anti depressant instead. Its puzzling and upsetting. I walked around like a zombie gaining weight essentially losing years of my life. It makes me wonder if she has any other blind spots despite being very well meaning.

Dr. Jackson is plesant however her office standards and procedures are terrible. There office is more concern about making a quick buck than assisting a patient and their concerns. Dr. Jackson diagnosed me but would not provide me with any information regarding the diagnoses unless I made another appointment and paid another copaymentto her office. Mind you I had no outstanding balance on my account. I explained to her office that I could not afford to take off work again and would like the doctor to contact me regarding my condition, office wanted to scheduled me an appointment 3 weeks into the future. Right now I have no way of knowing whether my diagnoses is good or bad only that the doctor wants to refer me to a specialist.

I was assigned Dr. Jackson by my insurance carrier for PCP set appointment my own fault for not doing my research ahead of time! But asked for refill on Bp meds and took in old container so mix up would happen Dr. jackson took it upon her self to change my dosage with out any explaination after almost 4 mo taking wrong meds made appointment for swelling had and feet and to ask her why she had changed dosage she lied told me bp was extremely high we check her computer and she had this dump look on her face and I had to remind no one had ever told it was high at any visit. then i explained to her that in my medical records show the meds i had been on she just looked at me and asked me what did i want to take ?? never have i ever had such and unprofessional visit from a Doctor. She never even requested my medical records from my previous Dr. My opionion shes not ready for the office she just need to stick to Er experimental partice.

Dr. Jackson's office phone answered about 20 % of the time and the staff will not call you back. After 5 calls I reached someone in the office to make an appointment, they insisted they had called me back. They had insisted they called me back on two other occasions so I suggested maybe they didn't have the right contact information on file (even thought I have left my number each time I have called.) The receptionist said "I don't know what to tell you, I'm not verifying you number. We called you back" and then hung up on me.Either they are lying or my contact information was apparently crossed with another patients information and they received personal phone calls about me from my doctor. I'm actually not sure which is worse.There staff in NOT knowledgeable about appointments or procedures. needed to reschedule a physical that was scheduled for the next week. I told them this was for a physical - which they should have also been indicated in the appointment to allow for enough… time. This appointment conflicted with a work meeting scheduled for the same morning, and I asked what appointments she had available for the next week. the receptionist said she didn't know, was very confused and then took an annoyed tone and asked why I didn't just want to make the appointment for later in the day. I had to explain to her that I didn't want to be fasting until 2:30 in the afternoon.Dr. Jackson, while pleasant spends at most 6 minutes with patients and is ALWAYS running 30+ minutes behind. She clearly practices the treat m and street 'em ER style of medicine. That would be better suited for an emergency room, not a primary care physician.
