Dr. Heather Michelle Lake, DO

I came to Dr. Lake to help with pain issues. She was nice during the 5-10 minute visit (during the first and only meeting I have had with her). During this time I expressed I was looking for solutions for my pain and swelling in my hands other than medication. She ordered x-rays and blood work. I first received my blood work results via text with a call from a nurse saying everything was fine but I needed Vitamin D. I then received the results for my x-rays where Dr. Lake had her notes that everything was fine. I was happy I did not have RA and have the early stages of arthritis but no call or advice on how to manage the pain. When I sent back a text saying how upset I was about the lack of assistance and communications I got a message back saying there was nothing she could do since I voiced I did not want to take any medication. She said to help with the pain I could do the following take Ibuprofen, therapy, or medication. I have no idea what kind of therapy helps with… the early stages of arthiris and I am just floored I did not get a call back from her office at all. She has no idea what I do for a living and how I use my hands there has to be something I can do to help the pain and it is my opinion no one at her office cares and would rather send a simple text then take the time to talk to someone. I wish I never would have spent all our money going to a specialist it was a complete waste. The visit will probably cost thousands of dollars and the answers she provided are so vague I got better answers from Web MD.

Dr Lake saw me for an initial appointment and basically said my primary should find more specialist for me to see, she was my 6th! I needed to follow up with my family doctor because I lost all confidence in Dr Lake. While having labs done, I spoke with the person drawing my blood and he had the exact same experience with her! Stay away from Dr Lake, she is lazy and doesn't care about the patient unless the blood work comes in the first time with high numbers.

She was very matter of fact and straight to the point. I didn't need coddled, I just wanted a plan of action and that is exactly what I got. She listened to what I am sure was very confusing explanations regarding my symptoms.

The receptionist at Dr Heather Lake's office is was not courteous. It took 30 minutes for the receptionist to schedule an appointment for my next visit. The receptionist did not know how to input another patients information in the computer. She could have stop to check me out but she continued to search on the computer. I was also disapointed with my overall service because Dr. Lake knew how long, I was sitting there waiting. I will be looking for another rheumatologist with a more courteous staff.

Found out recently she misdiagnosed a condition when I consulted with 3 other doctors. Plan to file a complaint with the AMA.
