Dr. Heather Michelle Penny, MD

Dr. Heather Penny refused to provide me with adequate accommodations to protect myself and my immunocompromised family members from Covid-19. As I was seeking a diagnosis for a condition that would put me at far greater risk for Covid-19 ? a condition that on average takes 12 years to get a proper diagnosis for ? she told me that I had no pre-existing conditions that would merit accommodations. When I pushed back against her medical negligence and dismissive tone, she refused to acknowledge my complaints and said she would no longer respond to my messages.I originally sought out care with Dr. Penny because of her role in Kaiser's Gender Pathways program, but after my experience I would like to DISCOURAGE any transgender patients, particularly low-income transgender patients of color, from seeing this provider.

In the beginning Dr Penny was kind and understanding with the health concerns I had. Over time she seemed impatient and just started pushing one prescription after another on me and didn't listen to my worries about what the effects would be. I trusted her judgment until the side effects caused me to lose my job. I immediately found a new primary care provider and the first thing they did was undo the prescription mess Dr Penny put me In.
