Heather Perne

Heather is passionate about caring for those with heritable connective tissue disorders such as Marfan syndrome and Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. Care includes the diagnosis of these conditions as well as screening for common comorbid conditions such as autonomic dysfunction, GI and pelvic floor dysfunction, vascular compressions, pelvic and lower extremityvenous insufficiency, neurological disorders, musculoskeletal disorders and more. She also enjoys wound care and care of vascular patients.
Her care philosohy stresses joint decision making and empowering patients with information to understand their conditions. She is a member of the Genetic Aortic Network's Patients, Families and Clinicians Education and Communication Working Group and has presented on heritable thoracic aortic disease to AANP, SVN and presented on the Ehlers-Danlos syndromes to Ambry Genetics.
Prior to a career in healthcare, she lived and worked overseas in Jordan and Vietnam and travelled extensively. She …continues to enjoy learning about other cultures and travelling when able. In her free time, she loves spending time with family and friends.
