Dr. Heather Joy Porter, DO

I love Dr. Porter. She listens, is patient, friendly, even takes time to visit when I was hospitalized with surgery with another doctor. The office staff are not doing her any favors. The receptionist is not at all welcoming, and actually getting through to the office on the phone is a real challenge. This would be the only reason I'd leave her, but we're considering it. Just aren't getting any answers.

Dr. Heather Porter is an amazing doctor, I have been to many other doctors in the area and out of the area, I have to say she is one of my favs. When I leave her office I feel like I was heard, I feel like she listened and asks questions about my issues/concern till she understands what is going on. She has never made me feel like less of a person because she is the doctor and I am just a patient. I would highly recommend her to any family or friends looking for a new PCP. MY only issue is with the office staff at the front desk they are not the nicest or the friendliest. I always feel like I am bothering them when signing in which is a negative thing because the doctor is so amazing, however because of that I am willing to put up with the rudeness.

She may act concerned and listen yet she is clueless. She has no concept of reality. Everything is fluffed off and she nods her head and says "hmmm" while you are talking. Then looks on the internet on her phone while in the room with you. I have to actually as her for the tests I need and suggest possible issues as she has no concept of medicine.

She will socialize all day long with you,just do not expect an accurate diagnosis...or any diagnosis for that matter. She continually runs the same blood work over and over until you become a pin cushion. yet will not sign shun order for a mammogram??? In what century should a woman over 45 have to ask and ask for a mammogram?? Select another Doc unless you just want to socialize and give blood.

I really have to agree with the post from the person saying the whole experience at this office was great except for the front receptionist, she's not friendly and I think she would be a bit nicer considering she's the first person you have contact with upon entering the office!!!

Dr.Porter is a wonderful caring and kind physician. She listens not only to your concerns but also talks to you in a way that is easy to understand. Would recommend her to everyone who wants a physician with compassion.

Dr. Porter is a good physician that takes time to listen to the patient. Staff was friendly, but the receptionist at the front was very unfriendly.

I am very impressed with Dr Heather Porter. She is patient,listens, caring and I dont feel like she's in a hurry to move on. She even came to see me in the hospital when I was in for a surgery from a different Dr. I was so touched. Her nurse Billie-Jo is a doll and all of the office staff are very friendly and efficient beyond belief. I finally found a Dr. where I'm not just a chart number, I am a real person

Dr. Porter is a young, energetic, and bright physician. She will spend as much time with you as is needed and actually listens to your concerns. It can be a bit of a wait to see her because she does tend to spend a lot of time with each patient, but well worth the wait for the level of attention received. I highly recommend her.
