Dr. Heather Elizabeth Prouty, MD

Awful bedside manner and complete disregard to basic human feelings. This is a doctor that doesn't believe in admitting certain medications to patients that she profiles. I have a chronic stomach condition that causes extreme pain and nonstop vomiting and I have a written protocol letter for the ER for medications when this happens and she refused to even look at it. If she had, she would have seen the proper route of treatment for me. Instead I was discharged still in pain and vomiting and continued to for two days after my visit. Would highly recommend you are treated by someone other than this one, who seems to force her "beliefs" on patients who need help.

As a woman you would think she would have compassion for her fellow women going through something as traumatic as a late term miscarriage. I feel as though she couldn't be bothered with the time it would take to gather some rather important medical history.I feel like I was a number in the insurance system; that I was not worth the doctors time due to the fact I wouldn't hit the hospitals financial quota. Left without options, concerns not addressed, and no plan in place, not to mention an enormous amount of pain I was triaged and swept out the door. Thankfully the universe provided nurses that were empathetic and humane, transport that was swift and kind, and a ultrasound technician that was thoughtful and compassionate. I would never take any one to this ER if I could help it, however if it was a matter of life and death and Dr. Prouty walked into the room I would simply say "pass".... Do yourself a favor ask for a different doctor if one is available. If you don't mind lousy bedside… manner and are not experiencing a emotionally traumatic ordeal I am sure Prouty would do just fine...
