In 2000,she was assigned to me when I was pregnant with my first child. She never said she was a resident Dr. She gave me a business card stating she was in fact a Dr. capable of delivering a child at University of New Mexico Hospital. She stripped my membrains without telling me why, two weeks before my due date. I returned the following week, and she stripped them again, with out permission or explanation. My water broke the next day. I had not even dialated. I was admitted and she did not show up until 8 hrs later. I found out, she stripped my membranes, because her sister was due around the same time I was and she wanted me to give birth first, so she would have the extra "experience" and would be able to be there for her sister to give birth. I was given pitocin without any pain management. When I still had not dialated, they increased the amount full blast and then two hours later gave me demoral, and then an epidural was given. My child's heart rate dropped and I lost… conscienceness. I gave birth after 28 hrs and the cord was wrapped around my baby's neck and her head was dark purple. I am lucky she is ok today. Dr. Romero was not interested in our well being at all.
