Dr. Hebah Kamel Aboul-Fotouh, MD

Went in to our appointment with my wife and my 2 month old son, we waited in the waiting room for about 10 minutes until we were called on. At this time, multiple families, 3 people or more, went in for their visits as planned. When we were called up we were instructed by the nurse that it was only one person per patient. I understood with the recent covid-19 outbreak, everyone is taking extra precautions. As I waited in the waiting room, I witnessed multiple families coming in and out of their visits. I didn't say anything, and just went about my business until a new couple and their baby came in, and they were all let into the back with such ease. No one told them the rule the other nurse enforced on us. That got me frustrated and annoyed. I got off my seat and I asked the receptionist if this was a rule then why is it only being enforced on me and not the other families. All I wanted was to be with my son while he got his first shots. I spoke to another Dr. that was there, didn't… get her name, and she told me about how they are trying to be safe and all, but I expressed my concern on how the "safe rule" has only applied to me. They pulled one of the family members of the family that had just gotten in right after I said something. Right there I knew I wasn't treated fairly. After the doctor told me I couldn't go back with my son I didn't complain anymore I just sat back in my chair and waited. Then I was called in by the nurse saying the Dr. wanted to speak with me and my wife. I immediately thought it was something concerning my son. When I get to the examination room, Dr. Hebah Aboul-Fotouh comes in and starts lecturing me about how I was in the wrong about me expressing my concerns. She was super unprofessional, and I've never felt so discriminated before in my life. She told me she demanded an apology from me. Apology for what? Letting the receptionist know how I see other families being allowed to go into the exam rooms but not me? She was rude and then stormed out of the room and didn't say anything in regard to my son and his health. A nurse came in and administer his shots, not the doctor, and told us we were good to go . That's it, nothing else was said, no apologies or anything. Not even on the shots my son was administered. This is not how a doctor’s office should run. This will be last time we go to such terrible run practice where the staff members can't even follow their own rules. I will be letting all of our friends and family know about what terrible experience we had. I hope this office takes this as a training moment so that the entire staff is on the same page with the policies and procedures.
