Dr. Hector Enrique Ibanez

I had a detached retina. No doctor in PR could help me but he did. My family and friends have a history of being patients of him and NONE have had problems. He is the winner of various awards and I am proud to say that he is my number one choice in ophtalmology. The service is great and the workers are very friendly and welcoming. His office is in a good location. I will go to him for all my retina, vitreo & ophtalmology needs!

I wasted time and money going to him. Something very typical of PR's medical system. His office never told me he did not prescribe glasses which is the reason I called to make the appointment. I even said this to the "secretary" when I called. Then, when I got to the office and announced myself to the receptionist, she told me to go have a seat but never gave me the paperwork for a first time patient. After an hour waiting, a technitian that walked by asked me if I had filled out the paperwork. When I said I was never provided with it, she stumped out to get it. To enter my information on the computer system, the tecnitian typed with one finger. A 5 letter name took him 25 seconds. (The minimum for a professional is 30 words per minute.) This Md completed part of his studies in Ohio. Once I got there, I checked it was at a private college, one that rests on laurels of the past. The University seems to have been going through educational challenges since after 1965. Questionable… reporting, my experience of this MD is that he seems to be part of a group of doctors that believe in overmedicating patients. Maybe this office was having an off day because the neighborhood was without power for a while but this is something that happens in the island very often. "When architects make mistakes, we have faulty bridges and buildings. When physicians make mistakes, we have a faulty medical system."
