Dr. Hedy Lee Kindler, MD

Dr. Kindler is beyond wonderful. She took excrement care of my Dad with mesothelioma and really goes above and beyond for patients. I think the people on here probably had a hard time after hearing bad news.

Dr. Kindler is the best doctor I've ever seen. Her positive attitude is much appreciated.

Dr Kindler has no hope or will to keep her patients going. She told my mother her only option is hospice after she refused to give any more treatments. Unfortunately this is the same story I keep hearing in the waiting room with other patients too.

The first time we met Dr Kindler, I felt like she was going to be the one to help us. She kept saying how she was going to see us “for a long time” and keep my parent around “for a long time”. Little did we know, that would entail multiple phone calls with no answer, unanswered questions, no updates, and blame all symptoms on the cancer and turn down every recommendation for possible symptom management because she was doing nothing when things started to get worse. After waiting over an hour and a half in the clinic to be seen, she comes in and looks at the computer to tell us that the cancer has spread and that we should look into hospice. Before we could ask any questions she started inching her way toward the door. I lost all my respect for her when she stopped taking my parents symptoms seriously.

Kindler is arrogant rude and does not inform you of your loved ones progress. We were made fools of thinking my dad was going to live longer - she said she couldnt see anything on the x ray and sat blinking one eye - this is a woman who reads x rays for a living. When my dad only had a few days to live but was still alive kindler sent a nurse in to see us to ask if they could have the body - I said no and pointed towards him. If you want compassion dont go to her plus I really wonder about all those credentials - what has she cured or come up with lately?

I work in healthcare so I have certain expectations on what healthcare providers should do for their patients. My dad saw her for his cancer care. She was more concerned with what type of treatments she could do to increase revenue. She ignored him when he kept contacting her because his symptoms were worsening. When she finally agreed to see him after multiple phone calls and emails his cancer had spread. She had no empathy or compassion for his situation. She basically said there are no options for the following reasons so you need to figure out hospice because you are going to die in 6 months or less. She washed her hands of my dad and pushed it off on us/other medical providers to care for him as he dies. I wish my dad had gone for a second opinion or seen someone else instead of her. I question her choices in treatment considering she said he would have excellent outcomes and now we have him on hospice with him wishing to die. Do no go to this doctor if you want to live.

I am writing this review ~9 years after seeing this doctor, since her unprofessional/rude behavior haunted me again in the morning after 9 years. Thanks Vitals.com for the channel to express... ~9 y ago, I accompanied one of my late family member to see this doctor at Med center of Univ of Chicago. The family member was very sick with pancreatic cancer then. The most astonishing thing happened during the visit is that: after she entered the room with 3 young maybe residents, she sit down with her legs extended to full length and laid the legs on the other rotate chair, those 3 young guys standing behind her. This is the scene only seen on a TV show - FBI agent caught a really bad guy. On that day this doctor delivered a bad news to us which we already knew from other doctors, but she was so rude and arrogant with NOT any sympathy. Again, like a FBI agent announcing the uncovered felony. After she announced the news to us, she left the room without no more words. We even didn't have… chance to ask questions. This is the only time to see the doctor. We were sure she is not the doctor who would care her patients. Very bad choice I made when I made the decision to see this doctor before the visit. But at that time she was the only one of the few oncologists of pancreatic cancer and she was HEAD of the program - we had thought she would be good as the Head. Now I am on the way to obtain my own med license. I am glad I learned that a doctor has been professionally/formally trained to be professional and considerate in his/her med school. Clearly, this doctor has not been trained well, at least the way she communicated with patients.

Dr Hedy Kindler, is not a compasionate doctor, she does not understand what a patient is going through, I would not recommend her at all, as she stated that we were not "WORTHWHILE" for her time. Stay away from her as there are many doctors in the US that actually care about there patients
