Dr. Heidi Christine Memmel, MD

I went to see this doctor yesterday for a lump ive had for 2.5 years. When she first entered our room. She had a shocked look on her face and a delayed response to introducing herself. Then proceeded to tell me if im more comfortable for my husband and kids to step out. A 2 year old and a 5 month old. Im comfortable, they are my kids i live with them, why would i not be comfortable. She seemed more bothered and wanted them out. I was respectful and told me husband to step out with them anyway. Once they left she stated something along the line that it was much better as it was quieter and we could discuss better. She then basically was confused why i was there if i didnt have cancer. I understand maybe majority of her patients have cancer but there are other issues we women can have with out breast tissue; cysts, fibroids, and so forth,l. Plus my obgyn sent me for a second opinion. She was rude to say the least. Told me not to touch it and come back once im done breastfeeding and “my… ducts dry up” which might solve the problem. umm.. ive had it over 2 years, it didnt dry up with my last breatfed baby so it wont dry up now either. Terrible bed side manner. If i wasnt uncomfortable i would have never waited over a month for an appointment and then waited 1.5 hour past my appointment to finally see her. I def recommend to search for someone with better bed side manner. i cant imagine having a bigger issues and she needing to be my specialist. She also has a hard time listening to you, interrupts and doesnt even give good feed back. If i could give no star i would. Good luck.

Dr Memmel and her staff made what could have been a very scary experience into a pleasurable visit. They were all very caring and took the time to review all of my mammograms and reports. They answered all my questions thoroughly and were very kind.

I found Dr. Memmel to be quite caring. She took the time to explain everything to me and answered all my questions.
